That’s good to hear. It’s hard to find info on this stuff out here, I am in Alberta Canada and even when looking online you come across Xede from Bullet and I found HD automotive also in Aus for the piggy back Haltech systems. They seem to be able to do proper programming with additional sensors, flex fuel/ octane sensors etc. and Though the cost is significantly higher. What did custom wiring harness cost?

It was 1000 dollars but it was absolutely plug and play I told them to add connectors for iat sensor, and flex fuel sensor I believe it would have been 800 without those.

Finally getting back to finishing the video cable and having trouble finding where this seemingly washer tube connects in the passenger rear quarter panel if anyone can chime in.

Or is it just a vent? Looks like something similar on the driver side.

No connection to anything on a US model. That tube is for the windshield washer on barn door models in other countries. We only get upper/lower hatch models here.

Tested the system out and sounds good but I think I have a couple of issues. One is with the turn on lead for the amp. The amp has an auto option and a wired option. First time I used the auto I wasn't able to get it to work but need to try again as I used power from the OEM amp and looks like the amp is staying on when I turn off the head unit causing a line noise. The other issue I'm not sure if it's normal or not for where the radio goes or this brand, but the screen looks a little washed out to me from the drivers position but looks better looking straight on. But, for the money and other features I can't complain. A huge improvement over the worn out limited feature stock radio.

I did a little adjustment on the backup camera and pointed it down a little more. It almost looks like it is pointed too far down but the angle works. I pulled my Garmin for now as I'm not sure if I'm going to hard mount it again or what to do with the wiring to prevent FM interference.

Went to start the 80 yesterday and the battery was totally dead. Hoping I don’t have an amp drain but with the battery nearly 7 years old I switched it out. New battery according to my load tester looks like it had been sitting for awhile. Put the C-tek on it in recond mode for the night to see what I can get out of it.

Charged it overnight and ended up with this. So, went and exchanged and the new one tests great!

So, I switched the amp back to automatic turn on mode and disconnected the remote turn on lead. The amp is working in this mode, but it didn’t change the whirring whine.

Is there a way to test the noise filter and how common is it for them to go bad?

My other thought is the alternator regulator as another Toyota I had once had noise go away after replacement.

The first place to look for the source of alternator whine is your amplifier ground. Make sure it's scraped to bare metal - threads are not enough.

Wow! This seems to have fixed it. I changed a few settings and this thing is amazing now that it’s working for my goal of a clean nice system that’s not competition level. Thank you!
