My 40 shut off on the fwy, any thoughts?

Well, that seems to eliminate that.

Yes, it is a frustrating issue but I appreciate the suggestions none the less.

I agree it is frustrating if you are guessing. As i have said before, when it quits find out what is missing....fuel, spark, or air.

Fuel--clear fuel filter or fuel in carb bowl
spark---lots of ways
air --

Just my 2 cents here as I have had similar issues with my 76 fj40. Determines that when running warm or hotter I was not getting 12v to the carb solenoid. Re-did some wiring issues and now carry a jump wire just in case. Runs great now
