Absolutely incredible, I'm envious! Definitely sounds like you've come a long way since the infamous Goat Canyon Trestle Hike;)

Which we'll be doing again in November by the way:D

Great right up. I started doing an annual trip to Whitney when I was in high school back in the mid 90's. I did that trip up until a couple years ago when we started having kids. I always went for the camping and fishing. They stock the crap out of that stream and the majority of the campers are hikers so it's usually epic fishing all season. One year I decided I was going to take 1/2 the trip and hike to the summit. We got the permit a few months out but I did zero training or prep for the hike. BAD IDEA!! about 5 hours into the hike I said "F" this. I was done!. My legs were noodles. Me and one buddy headed back to get in some fishing before it got dark and the other two (who were experienced hikers) continued on to the top. They enjoyed the hike and I enjoyed fresh fish and Coronas back at camp while I rested my out of shop body. I always said that I wanted to give it a go one more time but actually prepare for it this time. I need to start training locally up here and do the San G. hike a couple times. Maybe you can come along and be my motivation.

Hmmm...how strenuous is this? Mileage? Any serious boulder hopping, jumping off boulders, etc. I may not be able to do yet? I'd love to do it. Left leg s/b fine and it's 3 days before replacement #2, then I'm out for another couple of months.

Brent, it's strenuous. About 13 miles to the summit and 6,500 ft elevation gain starting from the group camp. A little less from the trailhead. The trail is very well traveled and maintained, but the conditions are always changing.
