Well after an exhausting few weeks of back and forth, we are finally official for our move to Charleston.

Pretty much a lateral move for me, but a bigger branch and more exposure, slightly better salary, etc.

To top it off, the baby is due August 10th, so this might certify me as crazy. Bonus to that though is that my mom and dad live on Edisto, so at least they will be close to help out.

Our house in Greer is on the market as of last week - here's a youtube link for a photo-show from my realtor:

58 Talavera Lane, Greer, SC - YouTube

I have always felt the best way to sell a house is to have a cruiser in the garage :D - look around the :20 mark

No comments on the heep - its the little lady's, looks brand new is 12 years old and only has 60k on it.

Overall were really excited!

Looking forward to hanging out with the low-country guys as well!

What part of charleston and are you looking at buying a house once you get down there? My parents are moving to brevard and will be putting there house in goose creek up for sale soon....send me a pm with your info and I'll give ya a call.

I really liked living in goose creek it was all of charleston but not all the traffic of the downtown section. Close to everything but not right in it's middle.

Sumter is Midlands, not Low Country. :flipoff2:

Liked not currently like , And we don't have a midlands chapter of the Upstate cruisers , YET!

We'll have to get together when you get here, Benny. I was out at White Cap a few weeks ago, and asked about you, but you were already back upstate.

Don't worry, Doc, You're still part of us no matter where you are. Kind of like Pat (maglight).

Yeah, what he said!

EWhy thank you both I never even thought any different. But it is nice to know. :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone. This back and forth is getting pretty old. I am working in Greenville through the end of this week, then will be heading back to Charleston on Monday and then will begin driving home for the weekends until the house sells. We have a few bites, so hopefully that will be resolved soon.

As for living down there, we haven't settled on anything yet. I am running out of time to make a purchase, as the wife is due in 8 weeks. We will probably rent something for 6 months so we can take our time with a house search and / or decide to build. Not quite sure yet.

We like Mt Pleasant a lot, but the $ is certainly higher and traffic is a concern. Summerville is nice, but being 20+ miles from downtown and even further from my folks in Edisto is a bigger concern. West Ashley would be great, but haven't seen anything we like so far. Our biggest issues is the need for garage space (with my company truck it makes 4 cars) and the need for at least 1/3 acre for the dogs. Don't mind building a garage, but the lot size comes into account and HOAs, etc.

One day at a time...

Wow 1/3 acre is my front yard and I feel like I don't have enough space. Then again almost everyone down there has a small yard useless it's $$.

Housing cost anywhere near C town is crazy anyways. Good luck with the baby and the move!
