Synopsis of the Motor Trend 6/16 test....

I kinda wish that the 200 hadn't gotten such a great review...will increase competition for the used ones.

My 2016 should of arrived in the port yesterday. Just waiting for the truck to hit the dealer to pick it up.

Not sure why everyone makes such a big deal about the screens. Big yes best looking? No
Overall truck look great?yes redesign better than 2015 and older 200s? Absolutely. I will never be in the back so what do I care. ?!

I think some of us fixate on those screens because the LC is known for purposeful design, and these screens just seem like a silly idea that get in the way. In the age of tablets, no one needs a movie-only screen that you can't remove without leaving a great big hole.

Other than that? Ya... Not a big deal. It's just annoying. ;)

Can you Bluetooth video to the screen from a phone or iPad ?
Waiting for mine to come in so haven't played with it and honestly probable won't. Just my wife and I and a 6 month old that won't be facing the screens for some time.

On the 2016 LX570, the rear seat screens are an option (unlike the LC). The cost is $2K. Even my kids said they would not want them in the back of the LC. They are more of a hassle than just an iPad. I'd rather have that money in my pocket than be forced to take them but we don't get that choice. Have you tried folding the second row seat with those screens? The second row seat folds up and slams into those screens when the front seats are back at a point comfortable for adults. I'm seriously considering adding a 16 LC but wish I was not forced to have such an expensive and useless option forced on me.

That 2 grand is a nice set of slee sliders and a cat back system from Brian....
I love the 2016, just think the big ugly screens are a waste, I don't need them and would love to have the option to order without them.

around here EVERY LX570 has the screen

I have been looking for one without the screen

Not that I don't like it like some posters..my kids aren't allowed tv/ipad in car on trips.

Agree maybe wouldn't order as an option but still ordered the lc. Waiting for the truck to arrive.

Everything else I've seen about the 16 is great.

Love the new button layout on the center console...hood update...grill looks clean...8-speed transmission...(assuming it is as stout as the previous) and little touches here and there. You're gonna love it. The 200 is tried and true at this point, so you don't have to feel like the guinea pig for an entirely new series.

Actually very happy to hear that rule. :) I think a lot of kids really miss out on gaining a sense of geography on trips because they are buried in a device from start to finish. I believe long, "boring" drives are good for kids. :) If they can learn to enjoy slow stuff, then they won't be entirely ruined by the attention-span-killing devices we all seem to be falling prey to.

Flip the screens up and the second row seat goes under them. It is annoying to have to do.

But, so far I've not run into a functional issue with the screens. They are annoying but don't prevent me from setting up the seating differently than I had been able to do in my old LX that didn't have screens. I do find them useless and think the money to include them would have been far better spent on including the LXs power tailgate as an LC feature.
