Besides the slight difference in price from the lc and lx I chose the lc for a few reasons

Doesn't take premium like the Lexus. Why I don't know same engine minus 1 hp
No electric hatch or 3rd row seats to break in the future
No air ride suspension that goes up and down to break or leak

Things break and the little electric crap costs a fortune to fix and I know gas is cheap but still why spend the extra per gallon for really no difference.

Though I respect your choice of the Land Cruiser over the LX and how you choose to spend your hard earned money...I must say you're pretty far in left field when it comes to the LX.

The air ride suspension is actually a hydraulic suspension. The quality is actually quite high and is the only option for a Land Cruiser in many countries around the world. The fact that the height level can be controlled is quite convenient with so many daily usages, not to mention offroading.

The fuel is a non-starter. You can use premium, mid-grade, or 85-87 if you want to. The truck will readjust its tuning to whatever grade of fuel you throw at it. Oddly enough, not everyone in the good'ol'USofA has premium on tap.

I'll agree with all of the electric options but, if they failed everything would still be fully operational.

Again, I'm all about your choices and I LOVE the Land Cruiser you'll be getting.

Just chose the lc. Not putting down the Lexus at all. Just less flashy for me. 911 turbo for that lol.

Both great choices just picked the lc for my reasoning.

Feel very similar in quality and amenities. Just different badges lol

Nice article, though Motor Trend is what I consider the People magazine of car rags. Maybe that has changed?

I'm with 2016lc on choices. The Lexcruiser has some things I'd like (real wood trim) and some I could do without (extra gizmos.) The Lexus just has flash that says Cadillac, whereas the Land Cruiser is low key. Glad there are choices though.

Flip the screens up and the second row seat goes under them. It is annoying to have to do.

But, so far I've not run into a functional issue with the screens. They are annoying but don't prevent me from setting up the seating differently than I had been able to do in my old LX that didn't have screens. I do find them useless and think the money to include them would have been far better spent on including the LXs power tailgate as an LC feature.

Completely agree! Non-issue for me either.

My biggest issue is that my son hardly ever uses the one that we have in the 2011 (which I'm fine with because it's up and out of the way.) He is lucky to use it 1-2 yearly. I love the 2016 but if I'm spending that kind of cash on a truck I should be able to pick the options of if I want TV screens that will almost never get used. I also talk a lot of crap so don't be surprised if I cave and get one anyway.......But that is the only reason I didn't get one yet.
