Not terribly exciting, but I did get my welder wiring set up with a nice big spool. Thanks to Jerome and John for helping me figure it out!

NICE!.. My cords are too big for this, but I like the idea if I decide to shorten my cords or go with smaller cable.. The 50' and 100' - 6/4 cables are overkill for my 350amp machine.... (they were free though)

The cord in the reel is 4 wire 12 AWG stranded. I'm only using three wires for my welder, but the AWG is sufficient for my welder as per the manual.

I'm actually surprised by that. I'm running mine on 8 ga and not as long. But as long as it works, you can figure the voltage drop into the machine.

Are you using 8awg stranded or solid?

I've got 10awg solid from my main right to the spool, so if there's going to be an issue, it's in the spool, which can be removed later if need be. For now, it seems to work just fine.

I'll get to welding soon enough, don't you worry

Just got done reading from about page 80 and WOW, you have been busy. Congrats on the engagement, house, trailer, and the D60. On page 107-Post 2138, where did you get your fuel filter and do you have a P/N ????? How do you like your NWF cable shifters? Sold my D300 and shifters to make some money for my build. Now trying to sell some Dana 44 axles for some more funds to buy ARB lockers for my axles. The 44's are from a J**P project I started a long time ago before the 60 project. Now its nothing but the 60. Great work man

Fuel filter is from eBay. I don't have a part number other than what's in that list.

I love my NWF shifters! They were tight for a little while but loosened up after some use.

Sorry I missed this Mike! I don't know how long it is. I unspooled the line and it's at least 30'. I put the spool in between the doors so it would reach around to my soon-to-be concrete pad.

Since @boots4 ordered those super pimp NWF D60 highsteer arms, I reached out to them to get a set with the hummer offset, so I can run my H1s. 5 weeks later, I have the first pair of arms from the latest set! Machining finished late last week, got them yesterday. I was so excited, I had to get some work done.

Silly me, thinking that land cruiser high steer arms are heavy duty. I recommend everyone go to Kris @ NorthWest Fabworks http://www.northwestfab.com/. He has AWESOME customer service and produces a truly superior product.

New studs:

No more cone washers! These knuckle stud nuts are nearly as large as Land Cruiser lug nuts!

With kingpin preload adjusters:

Painted.

Factory arms removed, new studs installed and loc-tited into place.

Beautiful.

New bushings and arms.

You can see where the factory knuckle interferes with the H1 wheel. Thus, the knuckle is modified.

Wheel is on and fits beautifully.

In other news, I've also been working on a brand new turbo, ordered through Holset. This is called the Super HX30. It has a 46/78mm inducer compressor wheel instead of the 44 or 40mm inducer compressor that comes on the other HX30s. It's got a 4" compressor inlet, HX35-sized compressor outlet, a T3 exhaust flange and a 3" turbine outlet. It should be a screamer.

Finally, in prep for my D60 swap, I had a 10x20' concrete pad poured at my house. It's got a couple more days to cure, then Moonshine is going under the knife.

That front axle is sorta wimpy...

...Sitting on the ground at least. Look forward to seeing it under Moonshine!

Those arms are things of beauty! I found that with this geometry I was able to use my 6in ram. I measured several times the travel of the tie rod as I cycled the steering and sure enough 6 in was just right. Usually you'd need an 8in ram for D60 steering.

Glad you've got concrete to work on, gravel is no fun. I like that the downspout will clean off the pad under your truck during the wet season. Should keep the "marking it's territory" to a minimum.
