Thanks for starting a thread on this!

Looks like that rear axle came forward a lot! Any chance those springs are on backwards?

x2 The rear axle looks wayyy forward which is probably what's causing the DS to bind. Check the spring orientation.

Problem is they are on right. Military wrap always goes to fixed frame end and long end to shackle. yes the axel did move forward, I'm thinking because the lift is so high?

Posting a few more pics

Posting pics. Maybe someone smarter than I can answer the perplexing question why did my axel move so much forward:confused: Since the Mil Wrap is in the right location my only thought is the arch in the springs is so high it moves the axel forward when under very little load, as the spring is compressed the axel moves up and backwards as the shackle rotates toward the rear. But....:hmm:

Nolan, yea that's Dave's (4+) truck. I did notice that. He carries a lot more weight in his which could be the difference. Right now I have no weight in the truck, gas tank almost empty & no spare tire. I've got an pm to Dave to see what he thinks. I know the springs are in right I did not do a rookie move like that :) Still may have to get a extra long spline DS just to be safe. I know the back does not move nearly as much as the front but a hell of a lot more than stock. So I'm waiting for the brain trust to weigh in on this little issue.

No Bomar I did not. Got em out of Washington. It turned out to be a mis-ship to another address and that person was to resend to me. Got a call today regarding it. Still pissed, now $30.00 is holding up a $2000.00 suspension system! :( May give him a call do you have contact info? THX....

Rear DS Issue

Think I figured the rear DS out. First of all the truck is really unloaded! no rear shocks, spare tire, no gas in tank and been jacked up and not settled in yet. As well as the big thing I still have jack stands under the first 1/3rd of the front frame till I finish the front:eek::doh::bang: Some days are longer than others! Think I'll have another:beer:

Last pics on page 4, thats a lotta leafs :grinpimp:

all in all was very happy with the Mojave springs plenty of flex ...so much that my new swar bary Extensions broke and my rear zsawy bars without extensions wound up pinching and crimping both my exhaust tail pipe and the fuel tank .......so word of advive REMOVE the sway bar...due to amount of weight and flex those springs worked at .but frankly all in it was worth it . as far as compression both my driveshafts extended out about 1" -1.75" from where they were, no compression.

How's the ride?
ride is great ...mind you basing it from my old flat stock springs she takes speed bumps very well. no more spine crunching when i pull out of the drive way, and once i put fresh tires on .no more vibration at 40 mph, she rides pretty flat on tight turns even with the sway bars taken off based on my redneck plumb-bob i have on my rear view mirror
FJ6210-18003.jpg

my lighter leash acts as my plumb so i know how much angle im at .........so when it sways far to left or right i know its pretty steep. and if it sways hardly at all then shes pretty flat ........similar basis as the weather rock

How'd the Pinion angle end up in the front? did the 4* shims get both the pinion flange and t case flange parallel?

Did the shocks the kit came with have enough droop?

Looking good BTW, nice work.

not really sure on the pinion angle. however it doesnt appear to be cut and turn .as far as those shims not needed........with tah s?r kit .and the shocks where damn perfect they are actually a diffrent model number than the regular OME heavey set i think ...........but they are OME shocks

Todays Events

I can tell you this system far exceeds expectations. There is no way you can run stock front DS and use all the articulation. I let the front end fully droop and the new SS extended brake line is to short and the front DS hits the tranny cross member. I think once I cut and box the cross member a long slip DS will not bind the u-joints. I am running Ford shock towers and as it sits now I have 33-1/4" pin to pin! and that's not full droop! I had to jack the front axel to stop tearing the new brake line! Right now I will get longer brake line and going to notch the tranny cross member for full droop. This is a frankenstein! If you guys are running this system and running stock front DS you have severely limited articulation. Plus there is no way that caster has been negatively effected. You can not lift a FJ60 almost 5" and not caster shims under the front axel. Now keep in mind I am going for max articulation so I am pushing the system to it's max. Looks like I will need to run axel limiting straps! Something SOA guys wish they had to do:flipoff2: I can tell you at this rate SOA will not be the king against this system:D

about teh SS brake lines once you put teh wheels on teh shocks and let it set thers plenty of slack in teh brake lines. as far as teh DS dont know what to tell ya
