Try using Farecla brand polish some time. It took my '72 from this -

Toyota used those wheels on the early 80-series (straight axle, 3FE) as well as the late 80s pickups.
Very unpopular me saying it, but I think that those wheels look better than early acorns, or late 40 wheels - were all basically running radials anyway. Just not the original metallic bling - makes the tires always look dirty. I wouldn't mount one on a 40's spare tire carrier. Is the backspacing incorrect; I'm pretty sure the aesthetic is? They are a 16x8, or 15x7? They probably use a different lug nut than the original 40 wheels?

These are the 4Runner 15” that use acorn lugnuts and have too much BS so there is a 1/8” spacer on the front. Strictly rollers. They will be the hell off this thing by 3 pm.

Yuck

Well make sure they find a welcome home! Agree that they shouldn’t be on a 40, but they are the best looking wheel for an early 4runner and those 91/92 80 series (IMO).

Agree. Proper period correct wheels are step 1 always

Relax I’m not throwing the 4Runner wheels away. They just don’t belong anywhere near a 40. Not even in the cargo area.

I took the morning to drive to the MS Delta to pick up my next project. Grabbed a burger. Listened to my Rebels beat Auburn.

Bossman said the old man waited until the mud was dry and used a hammer to knock it out from under the fender.

Ok enough with the cream puff rigs. Yeah it’s nice, would I expect anything different?

Those TB t-shirts, I didn‘t find one in my acorn hubcap package a few eons ago. Was that an oversight?

Far from a cream puff but if you compare it to your 45 project anything would be a cream puff ….
