Mot, you got any OEM cargo area lights? That's next on the list... :)

You mean those didn't come standard in the N. American-spec 80?

Mot :)

Nakman,

How would those lights look if they stayed on whenever the headlights are on? Sort of a "mood" light inside the cab. Would they be too distracting?

Depends on what kind of mood you are in. ;p

I just put LEDs in my doors today and really like them. I got mine from www.autolumination.com because they had a 5 LED cluster that said it emitted light in a wider pattern. After reading about the focused light pattern and how some didn't like it as much I thought these might be worth a shot. Good mod IMHO.

Anyone else had any trouble with the LEDs from www.superbrightleds.com ? few months ago the rear door and sometimes the front door LED's started blinking, now both rears have completely gone out, for now fronts sometimes work, sometimes just blink they will probably follow the rears to the grave in the near future.

Two years I guess I cannot complain too much but considering trying something different to replace them hopefully something with better life expectancy. ypuld liek to put somethign together with bare LED's but that would likely just turn into yet another unfinished project sitting in my garrage.

Holy old thread!! yeah my under hood LED's just recently started flickering.. three of the 6 will go out on one of them, but if I flick it they come back on. All the ones in the doors have been working just fine.. I do occasionally notice an overall power surge on the doors, where all the lights will suddenly dim- it's so brief it's hard to detect but it's there. Not sure if that's from all the LED, or something else..

A good thing to get rid of the directional light output of LEDs is to treat them with sand paper. Use a moderately fine sand paper and the LED will give a soft, wide beam. Much better than reflecting the light as it saves space and makes the whole construction simple.

Or cut up a coffee filter and put it in front of the LED(s).... it what we do with camera flashes to make the light more diffuse and works wonders....
