Thats awesome SH, looks ready to go play on the old comp course out a Rausch.
Any progress on the boost leaks?
Mileage with the tires?

No boost leaks, and as miles get put on the turbo the response is getting better. Probably a bit of run-in with the new bearings in the turbo.

Mileage with the 37's was 20.5-21.5 with the stock turbo. Since installing the 20G, I've gotten 18.8 and 19.8. Admittedly, I'm flooring it a whole lot more... the truck really moves under boost, I'm hoping to get a video this weekend.

I'll be lucky to get back out to Rausch this year. I'm more likely to hit Wharton a couple more times at best. I've got a lot to do on my honey-do list right now, and that will keep me occupied for the rest of the summer and into the fall.

Any updates on this one? Did the turbo make any difference for spoolup and for max boost? Did you crank up the fuel at all?

PS - I got the ECU finally, looks great... But I have never gotten anywhere near 21.7 mpg so this engine may be more efficient than the later version.

Glad the ecu made it to you safely.

I decided I didn't like the turbo, the sacrifice in spool wasn't worth the gains in top end. It was fun, but towing with it really sucked. Constantly found myself off boost.

As I said above, I really didn't like the 20g.

My buddy gave me a Holset HX35,so I decided to go compound. This is what I expected from a turbo upgrade!! Boost is up to 30-35lbs, egts are way down, and that Holset sound is just music to my ears.

My daughter decided to help with the upgrade. I put a short side dump 3.5" exhaust on at the same time. Amazingly, it's quieter than before! I guess I can thank the second turbo for that :)

Been quiet just because I've been so busy... neverending projects.

BTW, I followed Dougal's "Boost Compensator Mod" thread over on 4BTswaps and WOW did that wake this motor up. Might do a little more tweaking, but adding off-boost fuel made a world of difference and greatly decreased my spool times.

BTW, the HX35 os over the stock 14B, not the 20G

You're running a 1at3 pump on this engine right? Did you have to do any pump tuning when you added the compound turbos? Can you cruise at 75 mph in this rig? I'm in the process of doing a 4d34 1at3 swap in my 80. I'm planning on mating it to the 440 in the truck.

Yes I've done pump tuning, and it is a 2at3 pump, not 1at3. At first all I did was play with the max fuel screw which really woke the truck up on boost. I've since modded the settings on the boost compensator to increase off boost fueling which has really helped driveability.

Can I cruise at 75?? I get over 20mpg cruising at 75. I could cruise at 100 if I had the guts. The truck simply hauls.

I'd be disappointed if you can't cruise at 100mph now.

Nice gauge choice. I have the same (but metric pyro) to go in my work car. It's not easy finding a boost gauge that reads over 30.

You should be around the 200hp mark now, depending on what your injection pump is actually putting out. Does it go better than the petrol did?

Nice work on those twins, looks clean under there. I really like the power an HX35 delivers on a 4BT above 2000 RPM. I'd guess your small twin setup brings the below 2000 range back into check very well? Assuming I can compare Cummins to Fuso power.

Thank you, I really like the new "II" series of the autometer lines... The led backlit feature is great and easy to read.

You think that much?? It goes WAY better than the petrol motor, actually puts your head back a bit.
