Lights out at 22:30 last night after the SAINTS GAME and a whole bunch of CB's. Reveille at 06:30 this am. Sausage and eggs to go along with Lee's stories. All as a prelude to a 600 mile ride in a 40? I'd be headed straight for a shower and bed.

No issues with the truck making the trip from N. MS?

Talked to Lee at lunch time, they were in Monroe La and looking for an auto parts store ... crank case ventilation was acting up and spewing oil on the firewall. They had bi-passed the PCV and were looking for a replacement ... not going to be here for Billy's :frown:

Tucker

tow rig and a trailer and they would have made it.

Too bad the SMART car rental didn't come with a tow hitch :) They did rent the SMART car like they were talking about, right?

Greg, did Lee tell you about the book I'm writing about his life? It's a cross between Forrest Gump and An Officer and a Gentleman. I'm trying to come up with a catchy title for it.

Keep us posted on their progress.

I'm only about an hour away from Monroe, LA. Let me know if I can help or if they need a place to crash.

We made it in one piece. No breakdowns. Just spewed oil a bit along the way.

Thanks to all the Cottonland crew for everything!

Special shout out to Greg, Nolan, and Parker for the hospitality and places to crash!

We had a blast and it was a trip I will NEVER forget!

I'll second Pat's comments, as Butch Baker says, "times a bazillion." The hospitality you guys extended to us was absolutely spectacular. I'll write individual thankyous later this weekend, after my ass recovers from the drive home. There's nothing quite like a 600 mile road trip in a hot oil-spewing 40, in 95 degree temps. But it's something I'd do again in a minute. The entire trip was epic, thanks to you Cottonland gents. I tip my hat to all of you.
