Mishimoto antifreeze

The stuff that op pointed out is crazy expensive. I wouldn't spend that much on antifreeze myself. And there is nothing special about Toyota red either. I don't know why people think there is. I would just put in Prestone green. Available everywhere, which to me is a very, very good thing. Even more important than the antifreeze is the water. Either used distilled or get the pre-mixed stuff. Minerals in the water will mess up a radiator.

Oh, yeah, forgot about that == D.I. Water is a MUST whatever type of coolant one uses. That's why it's cheaper in the long run to use the pre-mix stuff if you don't have access to D.I. Water, though it's fairly cheap at those places where you use your own jug and they pump the reverse osmosis swill.

Good point, Spook!
Deionized water is definitely ideal since it's the purest water you can get. Distilled is more widely available though and will still last for many years in a cooling system. Something else I forgot to mention, is that I add in Water Wetter to help prevent hot spots near the exhaust valves. Half a bottle to every two gallons, so since I have a slow leak in my system, I keep a 2gal can with a 50/50 mix of Toyota red and distilled water, and half a bottle of Water Wetter that I use every month or so to top off my coolant reservoir.

I also use water wetter in pretty much all the vehicles. Easy since it's on just about every vatozone or Pepboys shelf.
