Has anyone found a reason for the misfire? I have the same problem with 2,4,6, 8. It was working well last week before I pressure washed the engine. I also get a P0172 error code and I am trying to figure it out too.

I fixed my one sided engine misfire by pulling my timing cover. Belt jumped a tooth. I was able to get it back in time with a helper. Very hard to do by yourself. I went ahead and installed a new tensioner. Old tensioner wasn't very old and "felt" fine, but who knows.

Was it obvious that the belt jumped a tooth? O was it more like a "half" tooth jump? (photo attached is from my engine with the same issues)

I can't say. Too long ago. How old is your belt in the pic? Possibly stretched?

Assuming other two marks dead-on their marks. You have a timing issue. Just do a timing belt service. At which time, make sure knock pin has not been sheared.

Happy 2020 all.

Well, I spent last day of 2019, inspecting a 2005 LC w/~200K, that was towed to me. That had a Timing Belt installed a few days before coming to me

Let me know your thoughts:

Blown engine from interference or is there hope?​

Here's the story. I received an email from Cairo, He was responding to a CL ad I posted for 2UZ engines and parts. Subsequently speaking with Cairo I learned, he had purchased a clean 2005 LC w/~200K miles about 30 days...

I bought a truck not that long ago that had this exact problem, a "shop" had told the owner that the truck needed an engine! As others have stated if your getting misfire codes on an entire bank of the engine CHECK YOUR TIMING!

The timing belt on mine had jumped 2 teeth on the passenger cam shaft. With out touching anything else I replace the timing belt and that solved all the issues.

My passenger cam jumped 2 teeth as well. Dirt dobber nest. 2nd time this has happened to my rig. There's a tip online where you place a 1/4" driver bit under the belt and crank the engine over with a wrench and your belt will jump a tooth every time it's rotated. I didn't believe it until I tried it. Works flawlessly.
