Minor Rust on Painted Surfaces

Any experience/suggestions for treating painted areas with minor rust like these spots under the grill?

I have had that before and most of it was staining, and will clean up with some rubbing compound. Then I would just touch up paint it to stop it from happening again.

Get on it.

Hardly staining, especially that pin hole example.

Suggest sand prep, apply mild acid (u can get @ hardware store), thoroughly rinse w water, prime/paint.

Rust (energy) is inversely related to surface area...the smaller the area/the higher energy = rust acceleration.
