Geof; you are paying for a rustfree<mostly> body.......seems to be untouched and w/o a lot of bondo or shiny paint that can cover tons of rust; IMHO I would prefer an unmolested pig with faded paint as a starter than a shiny recently painted one.......have seen a shiny one sag in the middle from NY rust and you might read on K9crazy's build to see what can be hidden........my 0.02

Yeah. I think what it boils down to is my common sense sets a price in my head but if I really want the truck I ignore my mental "line in the sand." So before I take my common sense out back and shoot it, it helps to help to have reassurance that I'm not doing anything particularly dumb, from people that know and love these beasts.

Geoff,

I understand your dilemia. The interior is a little rough. I do not know if you are married, but my wife took one look at my amazing Pig, saw the ratty headliner and asked when I was going to replace it.

That said, I think you will be hard pressed to find a cleaner body *IF* that one has lived in NM its entire life...

Why not offer this:

Tell her you will buy a battery and go $1750 if engine runs?

I would rather have the chance myself to start a vehicle that has been sitting that long. I would pull the plugs and spray some oil on those dry pistong walls before cranking, replace fuel filter, run fresh gas, plugs, etc...

I agree with Pablo Cruise
I have been looking for one for some time. Finding a near rust free pig is a challenge
Good luck with it

Woo hoo!!! An accord has been reached in negotiations. By the weekend the pig will be mine!!! (sorry about the exclamation points, but I'm excited.)
