Good morning, I searched and did not find anything. If there is a thread my apologies. Im looking at a 70 series from the middle east. It does not have a heater. has anyone successfully installed one?

Thank you

I believe @Honger did a pretty thorough write-up on the HVAC system, can't remember if he was installing a heater or just rebuilding the whole system, but it is chock full of information.

I'm sure it's not impossible to install heat but are you sure you don't want to just buy one with heat...and A/C for that matter? They aren't particularly rare with both. Having said that, I bought an '83 FJ45 Troopy with A/C and no heat but that is a pretty rare vehicle to find in decent condition, the 70 series are way, way more plentiful.

If you are dead set on this particular 70 then I would try to get it installed in the middle east. There are active members on here from both UAE and KSA that could possibly help.

Yea im not dead set on this truck. Its just a clean left hand drive 70 series that's already in the states . If it really isnt feasible ill probably pass. Thank you

i have no idea your aptitude, but for me it was a very basic job.

taking the dash apart is a fair bit of work, on tyhe plus side you can clean stuff up and replace foam gaskets and other wear parts. installing the heater unit is very simple, its just bolt in.
drilling the holes might be the "hard" part, but the firewall is marked so thats not even hard.
