They drop into a shallow bucket of water and drown. Peanut butter for bait.
I had a job (trim carpenter) that when I arrived was a mouse hotel. In one month I got rid of 20+ mice.

So I picked up this 80 a couple weeks ago. Didn't realize I had a stowaway. I found my new registration paper chewed up. Then I declared war. This morning he took the room temperature challenge, curtesy of my spring trap place on the passenger floor board. I want to make an exhaustive list of all possible places they could get it. Here is what I have, am I missing anything?
Possible mouse/mice entry points to an 80 series:
1) Steering shaft seal (mine is toast, most likely the autobahn of choice)
2) Shifter rubber boot
3) Cowl for outside air intake
4) Square hole under cargo area with plastic cover? (this was mentioned somewhere, but I have no idea what this looks like, pic anyone?)
5) Main wiring harness grommet (on firewall; engine to interior)
anywhere else?

Anywhere that you see a grommet through the body in this diagram:

Also, the rubber plug where a clutch master cylinder rod would go through. Many people use it to pass aux wires through.

I believe there are also some plastic plugs in the front footwells, possibly for drainage. Anything a mouse can get its head through, the rest can fit.

I tried these on 3 vehicles and so far so good. I leave them on all the time as I was turning one off and on as I was afraid of draining my battery. I went and looked under the hood during the day while it was off and surprised a giant rat. Since that time I've left them on day and night with great success and the batteries does get drained as I'm driving or starting every car once or twice a week.

Almost exactly 2 years later and these have been fantastic. No sign of rodents under the hood or in the cab of any of my vehicles.

@patride71 I've started parking my 80 outside and I am interested in how these have been working for you. Are you still having success?

I can't speak to this product specifically, but I tried a noisemaker device in my plow truck and the mice in my area seemed unbothered by it. I caught a mouse in an old school snap trap right next to it.

For me, depopulation has worked best. In my case, bucket traps are the most effective for that.

out door posion bait stations have been great for us for year round rodent reduction, yes we worry about the neighborhood roaming kitties but its a chance we all take. We had a massive rodent invasion a couple years ago and they got into everthing.

Yes and no. I think they get accustomed to the device after time/generations. Leaving the hood open + the device seems to do the trick. Having said that, I left the hood open on my 200 and has that device under the hood and a mouse moved into my glovebox through the fresh air intake. Driving/moving the cars everyday seems to help a lot as well. It is a constant battle that requires consistency.
