Hey all, this is Jon. I was told all the cool guys with Toyotas hang out here. If you have space for me I'm definitely in. I'm tied up early Friday but can come up a bit later and meet ya'll. Let me know what food and libations you want me to bring.

So, I just called the ranger district up by Camp Nelson, and they said their is a very slight possibility that there is still snow on the ground leading to the camp site. This has only happened one other time before that I know of, but basically they tell you to proceed at your own risk to the camp site. Being that the weather has been warming up, I think most of the snow will be melted, but there may be a possibility we might need to clear a couple old drifts to get to the camp site (or we just plow through with the rigs!), so if you have a shovel in your rig, it might come in handy.

So, for the trail run I have planned on Sunday, they said the trail (Forest service Rd 21S94) at the top of the mountain is currently open, but they haven't verified that it is clear of boulders or fallen trees, so we may get to a point and either need to either clear trees or winch boulders out of the way (or worst case turn back). They are expecting a little late season snow later this week, but I will call next week to verify they haven't closed it due to the snow. Hopefully there is a little left on the ground to add the the ambiance!

Overall though the weather looks like it is going to be perfect, low to mid 70's during the day and mid 40's at night!

If anyone is planning to go up early Wednesday or Thursday Lake Success Campground is open and wishon Campground is open. There are also some cabins available to rent until Friday when Belknap Campground opens

Does this mean that the horse shoe tourney has been cancelled and replaced by a snowball fight?

Now that would be fun! I'd like to see your fast ball Ralph!

No need for anyone else to bring eggs.

What are you going to cook all this on? BTW "large loose" does that mean scrambled?

Damn thats a lot of eggs! Holy Huevos!

I just did a check on the weather and it looks like it should be about perfect up there, low 70s during the day and chilly at night, in the low 40's to upper 30's, so bring some extra blankets, portable heater or a snuggle buddy!! There is a slight chance of rain/showers on Saturday, so i'd bring a canopy if you have one.

If you want to do some shooting there is a quarry up at the top of the mountain, just past Ponderosa, that you can plink away in. We can make it a stop along the way to the trail Sunday and shoot a few rounds off before we jump on the trail and cut back around the mountain?

Make sure you pull your ladder up with you when you go to bed!
