Oh and Mike, I'd love a 13B-T, who wouldn't but the 35 cents that I currently have in my cruiser account says otherwise

Thanks Norm!!:) I ain't worrying about it then.

Does your temp needle creep up to the 3/4 mark on long hill climbs? Maybe I have a plugged rad or the cooling system is comprimised somewhere else. . .or maybe I'm pushin' her too damn hard.

I just noticed it climbing near that high a couple of times recently. Before it would never go more than 2/3, and usually was rock solid at 1/3 - 1/2. FWIW, I had my rad re-cored with a 4 row several years ago.
I'm probably due for a new thermostat, I think I'm still on the original...

Come over to NV, we'll have a drag race up MT Seymour and see how they compare :grinpimp:

Sorry, Norm. However, you might consider doing this . . .
the second pic also shows the magnetic antenna mount location!

Let's rat-race up the cut. I have factory gearing, you don't. It should be interesting. Tortoise vs well, the tortoise.;p

Justin,

My fuel gauge and temp gauge will simultaneously pin to the max as well very occaisionally, usually on long trips. In my search on MUD, I've narrowed it down to a grounding issue, so I'm not worried about it. Incidentally, it first did it on the climb up the Coquihalla! I turned the motor off for a minute, opened the hood, felt rad hoses, block, etc to be sure she wasn't overheating, restarted and gauges returned to normal.

These are 25 year-old trucks, they are going to have their quirks!

Anybody have a suggestion for a good place to leave a tow rig? Can a truck and trailer get near the first camp?

No worries Bruce, last year we had full size trucks c/w 20' trailers camped with us. On the road down there are lots of spots to ditch the trailer ( mule too). Now, the turn to get onto the bridge deck...

I guess we will talk more at the meeting,

I hear ya buddy, many mods I'd like to do to the truck all at once too, but not enough scrilla (scrilla = $$$ for all non-gangstaz), I might have not even spelt that right.

I wouldn't bother replacing the 3B unless it gets damaged enough that it shouldn't be run like mine is. Spending the extra cash to get a 13B-T made sense to me when I compared the cost of rebuilding a 3B that might need the crankshaft replaced. Then you still have a healthy tortise, instead of a turbo direct injected tortise:)

Be sure to take lots of railway photos when you're in the Fraser Canyon and post them on the Canada trip reports section of Railroadforums.com

Goin' to pull those axle assys. right now....

Well, work sorta threw a bit of wrench into things, I have to be back for a meeting on tuesday 9:00, so much for my leiserly drive back home!

Ouch!
I think the day after the long weekend should be a day off, to allow people to travel or unpack/ wash their rigs...

Send Jim to the meeting and have him take notes. I thought you run your department :flipoff2:.

I'm planning on taking Friday off so depending how things go I may start my weekend early on Thursday.

Anyone know if Gold Bridge would be open to sell gas on holiday Monday?

I just did a google earth path measurement and the route was about 300km from Clinton to Lillooet. Granted I lost the trail in the section before mud lakes and just did a straight line a to b segment. Nearly all of that off pavement, and a fair bit 4wd. Yup, I'll be bringing jerry cans.

Yeah thats the problem, I have a big meeting with a big potential client, wouldn't look good if I didn't show up. Jim is going too, and if I do happen to have some problems making it back, I am sure he could take care of it if I had a good excuse, but if I can make it back I will have to be there.

See if you can find their number and call them up?
