We're selling our 1996 HZJ73 Land Cruiser, a Japanese import that's been part of our family since mid-2022. It served as my wife’s daily driver until a few months ago, when we replaced it with a firetruck conversion 4-door HZJ75.

Key Details:

  • Engine: 1HZ 4.2L Diesel
  • Transmission: H55F 5-speed manual
  • Mileage: 120,000 miles
  • Features: Factory limited-slip differentials, roll bar, FRP top

Condition & Restoration:

This Land Cruiser has been meticulously cared for with plans to keep it long-term. Highlights include:
  • Full body restoration to address any rust, using proper old-school welding with patch panels (no quick Bondo fixes).
  • Custom paintwork in Land Cruiser Dune Beige (416), accented with Touge Nation stripes from Australia. While the paint came out great, it’s not museum-level and shows minor imperfections from daily use. Photos documenting the bodywork and paint process are available.
  • Replaced door seals, fold-down windshield seal, and windshield during restoration.

Recent Maintenance:

  • Timing belt replaced ~10,000 miles ago
  • New brakes and wheel bearings
  • Air conditioning and heating work flawlessly

Upgrades & Features:

  • Upgraded sound system
  • Rear seat equipped with shoulder belts (important if you have kids!)

Price:

We’ve have put over $40,000 into this Land Cruiser.
Price dropped to $25,000

We love this LandCruiser and hope to find someone who will care for it like we have. Feel free to reach out for more details or to discuss further.
Thanks for looking!

Just checked with Pasha and shipping to Seattle from Maui should be $2140, or $1740 to Oakland.
Happy to split shipping costs if anyone needs it sent to the mainland.
Is that grey/green dual cab pickup 2nd from left a custom build, or firetruck conversion?

Let me know if you decide to sell (or get another) . Moving back to Big Island this upcoming summer
Sure! Give me a call anytime, I posted my number earlier in the thread. I’m still not against selling one of the trucks and keeping one of the 73s.

out of curiosity, what might you consider selling your green firetruck conversion? trying to consider my options in the near future!

I wasn’t planning on it, I actually just got a new aluminum tray with storage drawers and fold down sides for it.
But yes, I’d consider it.
