United Radio is legit. Is authorized ML repair center.

Had our 04 LS430 ML amp replaced by Lexus dealer with remanufactured (by United Radio). Paid just over 850, which is a few hundred more than DIY, but have good relationship with service dept. if issues come up they should be reasonable to work with. Had the popping issue and with the “new” amp sound is great.

I just had the dreaded "pop" this past weekend...so, I've been catching up through this thread. I found this video:
He says something about being able to also use LS amps. I've googled around & can't find any info confirming this...does anyone know if/which amps might be able to be substituted for a GX amp?

For reference, I have a 2008 GX470, which I think has PN 86280-0W490 (I'll get under the seat & take a look at things this weekend)

I had a similar ML Amp problem with my GX. The radio went on and off intermittently. I contacted FactoryRadio in Socal, and took my ML amp there for repair. John from Factory Radio told me that the solder connections were separate. He said that he de-soldered the main chip and replace it (?). He charged $400 (I took it there, and therefore no shipping). He is a one man shop, and he seems to know what he is doing. It has been a week, and my Amp is working fine now. No relationship with this shop.
Hi, I know this post was from a long time ago but there are a few shops with that same name. Mind helping me out with exact city or website? Much appreciated :)

Does this sound like the amp or stereo? 2005 Mark Levinson system. There is a constant popping noise coming from the speakers as soon as the vehicle is powered on. Doesn’t matter if audio is on/off

NO sound at all from radio/cd (no button beeps from nav screen, volume slider appears as normal). But the navigation voice still plays from the drivers side speakers only

Before this full blown no audio issue, the passenger side speakers would occasionally not play sound on startups in the morning for several minutes before eventually coming on

My first thought was amplifier. The system check mode shows "CD-CH 1 NCON". All other statuses are ok. I've checked the audio related fuses and they are good.

Any thoughts on the above?

Tempted to find a used stereo with a return policy and quickly swap that in to see if it works before digging into the amp.

I'd rather go the amp repair route rather than try my luck with a used unit. But want to be pretty sure that will be the fix before sending it out.

Sounds similar to my situation (see post #33). Does your Bluetooth calling work?
Try unplugging your amp to see if the popping goes away.

Your previous post mentioned no sound at all, including the beeps when touching the screen.
>> If the beeps don't make noise, this is most likely and amp issue when dealing with the ML audio systems
>> Another way to test, go into audio settings and see if fade and balance work. If no, another sign of bad amp

When it comes to audio issues on ML systems its most likely amp, next option will be the head unit.

This guy is a good resource to help quick diagnose and repair. Hit him up if you are still trying to fix the problem . He did my head unit in GX470 with Mark Levinson system
