I'll be there after noon, got the go to the bank and sign papers.

Glenn

What are you buying Glenn? Tank of gas?

I have to go to St. Joe Sat morning, but I'll try to swing by in the afternoon.

I need some brake work done. If I can round up the parts I might be in (as long as someone can spare a free hand).

I'm an idiot when it comes to bleeding/replacing fluid. My spring spacers would be nice to tackle too, but I don't think I can get the coupler nuts I need in time.

I'll keep ya'll posted if I get my rear discs before the weekend.

what projects do we have

Craig,

If I can get out of my house I will be bending 2" round tube for my out riggers on the sliders I am building. Total of 4 bends and then I will need help cutting them to the correct angle. I get confused as can be trying to figure out the angle of a round tube that is angled up and out... not a simple 45 degree cut. Last time I did this I just grinded and grinded until I got it right. I would hope that there is an easier way!

I feel your pain. I having to do that for a part of the rework on slider mounts for the mini. They had some cool software on Extreme 4X4 last weekend that determines the cuts needed and prints out a paper with the cut lines that you wrap around the tube. I think its kinda pricey, tho.

I once found a jig that you would put around the tube and it had little pins that suround the tube and would stick out just past the end of the tube. When move the tube to different angles the pins would move as well. Once you had the desired angle you would lock the pins in place and slide it up and mark with a paint pin. I have searched and searched the web and cant seem to find it again. Its driving me crazy.

I don't know if it will work for you, however at home I have a link to some free software on the web for round vent pipe to do the same kind of thing, mating round pipe to round pipe at different sizes and angles. I think that is what you are talking about. I have never tried it for something that small.

When I get home, I will shoot you the linky.

It's called bend-tech. I have that software, Determining and cutting the angles is pretty easy (that is for a 30 year veteran of the construction industry). Robbie bring your 2" die in case Zane escapes from his house.
Du, are the coupler nuts to be used instead of longer u bolts? If the are, you'd be much better off to have Ron Istas at Inland truck to just make new ubolts

PS What time Saturday morning? Anytime after abou 7 am is ok with me>

No, the coupler nuts are for the bumpstops to be able to be installed on the bottom of the spacer and for the spacer to bolt to the coil seat up top. I'm sure there are other ways to install the spacers without using coupling nuts, but I haven't looked at the setup closely enough to tell.

I am missing two of the nuts I believe.

Andrew,

I have a Motive bleeder that I can bring if you want to bleed/flush the brakes.

This is exactly what I was talking about! Very cool tool..

Sounds good.

I'll be there sometime Saturday morning. Getting my new discs tonight from Molle (saved me $70!). Gonna try and round up some coupling nuts for the spacers.

Also, anyone wanna help me put my "new" transfer case in the 80 (or pull the plate I need off the new one and put it on the old one)? No, I still haven't done it :D

If it's a relatively speedy procedure I will drag the xfer case along. If not, no biggie, I'll just put it off for another year :D

Where'd everyone go?

Big thanks to Craig and Rob for helping me accomplish the following:
Rear Brakes
Finished AC dryer skidplate install (which was half-assed before)
Removed the crappy aftermarket alarm
Adjusted the e-brake
Installed my spring spacers (required some skillful fabrication and backwoods engineering :D )
Put the SWR meter on the CB
Remove front drive shaft to clean/re-lube

I think that's it...

I wanted to come to Craigs so bad, but I had two sick kids at home today! I called and left Craig a message on his VM letting him know I was not going to be able to make it. Sorry guys! I still need to get my 2" tubing bent, hope I can still get some help some day.

Zane, you and Bob are off the hook, extenuating circumstances... it's cool.

We forgive you. :D

Zane, This shop is here all the time. We just need to make the arrangements. Rob said you had talked about him bending your sliders. He works nights and you probably work days. I work days. We can bend of an evening if needed, we would just need to get Robs 2" die. Lets us know what works for you and we will make it happen one way or another.

PS Bob and Zane, thanks for the calls letting us know the you couldn't make it. Hope the kids are better
