Oh yeah, she's done. Another service item into higher miles. Haven't seen much if any information on these and wonder what the carnage looks like on other higher mileage harder used rigs. Towing must put a lot of load on these too.

Thanks for those pics!

Yeah.

I’d assume one used offroad would be considerably worse and toasted.

Guessing not mentioned much because looking at them while on the truck the damage/wear isn’t really visible/noticeable.

Only ones I could visibly see were toast while on the truck were the front sway bar links. Torn to helll.

I knew the rears were a wear item because at 150k on my 100 series (lots of Baja abuse) they came out in pieces 😂

I also post my F ups so others learn from my mistakes

Went to get truck aligned at Clarence (to check the clearance) Brown Yesterday and they were unable to do it because of a REALLLY dumb mistake i made.

Had a mofo of a time loosening the LCA bolts with 215k on them, and snapped a large 1/2" breaker bar trying to loosen the nuts.

Sooooo... I have one of the zallion foot lbs Milwaukee cordless impact, which is always last resort.

Couldnt get impact on the nuts, so decided to give the bolt a quick blip, which i 100% knew was a bad idea, but my dumbass did it anyway

FYI, these 2 from adjusters bolts knurled and press fit onto the adjuster cam (i knew this and simply forgot). If your dumbass whacks them with a powerful impact, the knurl goes bye bye, and you loose ability to adjust anything. They visually looked fine when i put it back together, but under load, they just spin

Had to go to 2 different dealers to get the bolts (which arent cheap), and alignment now rescheduled for Tuesday and im paying extra to have them replace the bolts. Expensive mistake

Moral of the story, dont be a dumbass, and dont use 1200ft/lb impact guns on suspension bits :grinpimp::

Highly recommend these 333 fabrication cam eliminators. You’ll never have this problem again.

I’m not understanding how those work.

How are adjustments made?

Read instructions on website, still doesn’t give much detail and strongly suggests adjustable uppers 🤔

Yea you’ll need adjustable uppers to use these. My bad

Ah! I was staring at them and thinking the same.

I might hit my tabs with a welder to back them a bit. But I think it's only really a problem when alignment monkeys pull on them too hard with load on the tires. Or when they aren't torqued enough (common) and off-roading.

I dremeled groove marks into my tabs and casters on the tundra and after beating it up Offroad is was super easy to get it dialed back to perfect and get everything back in place myself.

All the dumb things I did with that truck I never did bend any of the tabs though

Hah I was laying on my horn through Baltimore/ECB thinking man those wheels look good! Just left that rodeo rigs show at the stadium which was kind of meh.

Couldn’t hear anything over my blasting of Bieber

But thanks

I'll add that age can also be a factor. The rubber will dry out over time which doesn't help. Seen some garage queen cars with 30k miles or less with the same issues.

Very good/valid point as well.

Same with gaskets and seals

Super bummed the Nitto TG G2 were discontinued, I had 100s of 1000s of miles on them over the years. Arctic circle and back 2x

Nitto must have heard you grumbling. G3's are here.

GODAMNIT!!! 🤦🏻

Anyone wanna buy a set of Cooper AT3s with 100 miles on them? Adult owned

😜

What was so difficult about the front/rear UCA jobs?

Access and working alone.

Front UCAs use one LARGE LONG bolt that has to come out through the front. LOTS of stuff in the way on both sides that cant just be pushed to the side when working solo. Was able to get a buddy to lend a set of hands, and we eventually finagled them out, but it was a royal pain. Different course of action that would of added time, but made it easier would of been to disconnected everything in the way, this would of snowballed into various other things.

The drivers side rear upper, no biggy, was super easy.

The passenger side front most bolt goes in head on the outside, nut on the inside. In order for bolt to come out, have to remove sway bay bracketry as shown in one of the pics above. Looks easy, but is tricky because of everything in way. Once thats removed, getting a wrench on the back side (nut) requires circ de solei level contortion, theres just no room and its torqued to 100lb+. Breaking it free took 3 people and 30 mins. This is with truck on a lift and access under wide open. Not even sure this would be possible without a lift.

Finally got truck aligned.

I loved it the day I bought it, but now it’s 10x smoother, firmer, and much more pleasant to drive.

For those in San Diego, can’t recommend Clarence Brown enough! 👍🏼

Well…. Things just fall in my lap sometime…

Drawers were a “lower priority” thing and was trying to decide between all the new ones and stuff that’s been around. Kept going back to wanting tried and true though.

Friend sent me a link to some ARB drawers and 200 fit kit on EBAY but being sold locally.

Contacted seller, met up with him.

$750 for one drawer, fit kit and all hardware.

Plan was (I think still is) one ARB drawer, and then one custom one made to match, but with a drawer style fridge on the face of it, Instead of the large upright ones that take up valuable storage.

But I keep going back and forth on that idea also. 😂

Anyway, stoked

My 200 with 248k was used as shuttle for a fly-fishing guide in Jackson Wy and the bushings looked like this when I replaced them. I think it was used to tow a boat part of the time.
