Ok guys, I need a line on a shackle kit, you would think for 1500 dollars your manafre kit would atleast come with new spring pins. Oh no. That's an extra 80 bucks, so I say screw them. I'm not buying anything else from them, or slow cruisers for that matter. Again I'm not really interested in making a holes rich off my hobbies. Anybody Wana chime in and call me an idiot. Because of my frustrations be my guest

Thanks scrap daddy, my rear shackles are to short, so gotta figure it out. Just frustrated, seems like if you payed four times the amount for any other lift kit you should at least get a complete kit. Anyways moving on

We (Cruiser Outfitters) stock the 55 spring pins and shadows, give us a call and we'll set you up without anyone getting rich! :D

Ok guys the saga continues, so my stock rear springs measure out to 45". Dont know if that's standard or not, but that gives me 5" shackles from end to end. The safari springs are 43", wich means I need 8" in shackles. That seems way to long. And seems like it would add alot of unstabillity to rear suspension. Unfortunately I'm way to invested with this at this point. Other wise Kurt I would be on the phone with you. I can't afford to lose another 300 dollars shipping it all back. So I guess my question to this, another rant. Is can I get away with 8" shackles. Using 3/8" by 2" strap. Or am I totally screwed. The springs being 3" shorter leads me to believe that they are just re arched stock springs with one helper spring added.has anybody else used these? This whole time I thought these were supposed to be the bomb dignity. Boy was I wrong

No instructions although never really needed instructions to install a set of springs before if I had to compress them I would be losing hight in the lift. The front springs fit ok although it only added 2 3/4 " of Lift not the advertised 4" that I payed for. It is banded so I would assume however much compression is there. Thanks for the input Bob

No there not marked, bit the spring eyes are different end to end, so really only go one way. The fronts went on ok and the shackles are near vertical as should be. I'm starting to wonder if they accidently sent me a fj40 kit by mistake. Aren't they the same front but rears are longer?

Also if I tried installing shackle end first and compressed it to install front, the shackle would be at such an angle it would be hitting the exhaust

What does it cost to keep throwing money at an incomplete kit?

Sounds like your new springs just have more arc than your stock springs, measure from you front eye to the center pin along the arc of the spring then repeat for the rear measurement and compare with your factory springs, this will give you your main leaf length. If they are the same chances are your shackle angle will be off netting a crappy ride regardless how long you make it. Hopefully they are a bit longer and you just need to compress them some to get the shackle bolts started.

Plan “B” remove all the leaves from you spring pack and just mount your rear end with the main leaf and cycle the rear end from ride height to full droop to full compression, the rule of thumb shoot for a vertical shackle with the springs at full droop and about a 45° angle at full compression then you can use the calculator to get your shackle length, Triangle Given 3 Sides

To be a pig owner one needs to embrace the idiom "throwing good money after bad" refers to spending more money on something problematic that one has already spent money on, in the (presumably futile) hopes of fixing it or recouping one's original investment.

Thank you I am going to wait on manafre first to see what they would like me to do. Don't Wana void anything by taking the pack apart, I have been a more than willing participant, in throwing money that I know I will never see again at my projects, but not when they are demanding insane prices for a product, and the product outright sucks. I will make sure even if I have to make a trip to Nevada that they make this work, especially when there response is oh yes you need to use our custom shackles at 200 for the kit. When I was told that the stock shackles will work just fine. If a company can't stand behind there product. Yes I know I'm getting stuck on a principle sorry
