Bought the 24 gallon kit. *rubs hands together maniacally*

I'm even looking forward to having a tripple digit day at the gas pump.

My best (worst) is $211.50

I am suprised that if these are "newly designed tanks" that they are not designed to use an OEM Toyota sending unit, wure would simply things

So Boston... what is your range for $211? 69 Gallons at 11-13 mpg=760-900 miles!

That's awesome.

I believe the guy who started this threa just installed a 24 Gallon Unit. The unit i installed was a 44 Gallon unit.

I agree they both seem to hang down about the same! Weird!

Yes, it is a 24 gallon tank.

I am curious about the differences in the tank sizes. I think unless we take measurements from the top of the space of the former spare tire storage spot (or some other fixed spot) to the bottom of each tank, it might be hard to figure out how each tank sits. Also, the tank is actually on the 4x4 Labs bumper which (if measurements are correct) about 3/4 inch lower in the rear than where the correct system would place it.

I took some measurement and think they are fairly accurate--the concrete was too HOT to sit still for long! :D :crybaby:

The Maximum height of the 24 gallon tank is 11", not including sending unit(not able to be measured). From the highest point of the spare tire space (farthest from the ground) it measures 13" to the bottom of the tank. There is about 0.75 inches from the lowest point to the top of the tank. These measurements are taken in the front of the tank--the rear part of the tank sits lower, due to the positioning on the 4x4 Labs bumper. Luke at 4x4Labs is making a bumper for my 1997 that will have the rear cross piece raised 3/4 inches.

On my 1997 with a 285 tire in the spare tire position the measurement is approximately 20" from the highest point of the tire storage to the downside sidewall of the spare tire. It appears there is about 7" more clearance with the fuel tank than with a 285 tire.

I have the 15 gallon sub tank with an avg distance (from both tanks) of about 450 miles; which coincidentally is about how long my bladder can last!

The problem is..... that by the time the aux tank transfers to the main, you'll already be out of fuel LOL
