Hi all. has anybody got any experience of these on ebay?

MAMBA Upgrade TOYOTA CT26 Turbocharger w/ GTX3071R Wheel 1HD-T 4.2L Land Cruiser | eBay

I know gTurbo is popular round this way, but it's a very expensive option to get to Europe, and it's not like I have a diesel tuning specialist to set it up out properly here anyway, but I saw these on ebay and wondered if anybody has used, or knows much about the make or "upgrade" specs here?

No, but I went with the Mamba td05h-18g, it performs very well on my 1994 1hd-t with top mount intercooler and big 3.5" into 3" exhaust, running it at 27psi, but doing it again I'd go for the td05h-16G as the 18g isn't really on song till after 2000rpm, the 16G should be going strong a few hundred rpm earlier.
The only other thing with Mamba is I'm sure they haven't actually fitted their turbo's to the actual engine to check fitment etc, as I had to do some significant mods to the wastegate actuator to allow it clear the block.
Something to factor in I guess. Those ones you link to I think the comp wheel are too big, and it still uses the old tech CT26 paddlewheel style turbine wheel. The td05h turbine wheel is more modern and curved for better flow.

They now have an option to swap out that old CT26 type paddle wheel with the new curved/modern profile which works amazing. I'm using it on my 1HDFT with a custom built CT26 running only 13psi but during testing/tuning I could easily manage 20psi before 2000rpm. I've turned it back down now but it still makes 200hp at only 13psi so I'm not complaining :)

Could you give insight on what wheel you chose from mamba? I’ll look to upgrade my CT26 wheel and there’s a few mamba options.

Cheers! Thanks in advance.

Post your question here

You'll likely get more responses from people with experience with this, or similar turbo's on a 1hd-t.

Bump for more specs on custom ct26!
