Any special gears?
Special gears are already in Major Nelson's head and fully operational - his wife fully supports his 60 habit and I support her for supporting him=)

I should have posted a bunch of updates as this build has been going on....so here we go. Front bumper, rear bumper, and sliders (top ones are mine) knocked out. The rear will also have a detachable dual fuel carrier. I'm not sure people will understand how excited I am to have the Trail Tailor armor on this FJ60. When I built out my current FJ60 I found out about Jason's stuff after the I'd purchased the ARB, white knuckle sliders and 4x4 Labs rear. All great stuff...but I just look at these and it's just artwork. Check out those welds look like stacked nickels.

The 80 coil/axle conversion is done as well. This is another thing I'm really looking forward to. The wider track and coils will be a noticeable improvement over the OME springs and stock axles I have. With the re-gearing, lockers, and H55F I'm really looking forward to using this 60 a lot. I was very lucky Jason let me change my mind and pull the trigger on the conversion....at first I was going to go the economical route and stay with the stock axles....but realized I'd be regretting it forever.

I'm going with the fifteen52 Turbomac HD classic wheels. I've seen these on a couple of FJ60's and loved them. With the wider axles I need the 4.75" bs...also glad I won't need to use spacers. Really like how these look on the 60. Running 34's I'm also glad I'm going with the FJ80 steering box. Stance will be perfect once all the armour's installed. Looks great already.

Finding seats was a total PITA. Lost out on a couple of really nice BMW M3 seats back in the fall. Found some that need a little TLC (my upholstery guy said it'll cost $85 to get the bag sewn up and I'll never know the difference. Was about to go with the Corbeau seats, but I really like having the ability to raise/lower the seat height (in case my wife or daughters learn to drive a 5spd and want to steal it some time). Went with the planted seat brackets as well. My daughters will be happy the rear heater is staying. I'd deleted it out of my first 60.

Tell me about it. I liked the beautiful metal so much, I decided to paint mine grey.

Some more updates. The 60's alive and driving around! My flight's booked and I'll be picking her up on the 25th!

Glass is in, Monday is exhaust. then finish up the rear bumper and install the front bumper and sliders. I'm really looking forward to the road trip in this. Maiden voyage will be down the coast, stop in SoCal to visit family....then back to TX through AZ
