Hello everyone,

I saw a post recently (Wesley - blackhillsbuilds) about magnuson making superchargers for the 1fz again. I’ve put my name on the pre sale list. But wondering if anyone knows more about this. I emailed Magnuson not long ago asking if they could rebuild my current SC but never received a reply. Anyone know more details?

This is some info I got from a pretty reliable source.

They are doing a first production run of about 50 units to be released in December.
The price will be $8,495.

There will be a pre-release of about a dozen in late September to draw up some excitement & news before the first 50-production run later this year.

That's a tough sell with the @Cruisers and Co turbo kit at 20% cheaper and the @landtank kit coming soon. I'd expect both those options to outperform an OG supercharger repro. Should be a known entity wrt reliability which is worth something though. More boost options is definitely better for everyone. Let's save all the FZs from swaps.

But that's where my aircompressor is mounted! :censor:

Hopefully it CA carb legal like the last kits. This is the only forced induction that I know of that passes CA smog and work with the OBD1 93/94 1fz.

MAGNUSON TAKE MY MONEY!!

Where should I email to be on the list of 50?

This is where I signed up.

After seeing this post, over the weekend, I sent an email to Magnuson at: sales@magnusonsuperchargers.com. This is the reply I received this morning:

Thank you for contacting Magnuson Products.
Well, the rumor you've heard is correct, we are planning to pre-release the 4.5L Supercharger System at the end of September however, the systems are spoken for. However, we'll most certainly add your contact details to our waitlist and contact you accordingly once we have additional product details and availability.
Kind regards

Thanks. I don't suppose you know whether it has the CA EO?

Unfortunately, I don't. If you email the Magnuson sales team at that email address, I'm sure they would be able to tell you. Its the email address provided on the Magnuson website.

I can’t imagine a scenario where they wouldn’t supply the charger with the applied certificate.

to make changes to the build and go through that process for what?

Change a fan clutch? Add a stand alone ECU?

There is an already established aftermarket support for the short comings of the original certified design.

Yeah more than I paid for the whole truck is a lot of dough, curious what the dyno numbers will be.
The numbers that they’ve always been.

This a reproduction of the original, that’s why it’ll be 50-state legal.

Dino numbers will be about 155 AWHP & 238 FT LBS.
