Sooooooo tempting. After spending some time with Christo Slee and his built LX600 in Moab last week… the LX700h with a similar build is really looking appetizing.

Do it.

Hey it's ONLY 35k more than my GXOT+ (Quietly setting aside kidney).

All joking aside, looking through the spec sheets, it is fully loaded. The only options you have are Color, Third Row Delete, and Mark Levinson. It has soft-close doors, and even the "black chrome trim" is a black oxide coat stainless steel (no plastic here). My only current worry is that we won't get the sub-tank and we'll be hamstrung with an 18gal fuel tank.

I’m still hung up on that front end. Also would be very cautious about the Mark Levinson system. It was not worth the extra coin in the 550 to my ears.

Before they took things down, the spec sheets stated a 17.8 (or is it 9?) galloon tank. MPGs were in the 20s for combined.

I still see the specs list and features sheets available at Lexus.com; but yes I'm seeing 17.9 gallons or 68L.

Agreed, the ML in the GX has greatly underwhelmed me.

On the LX: The good news is, the third row delete is actually a deduct in price and helps to offset the cost of the ML system.

ML speakers on my 470 still sound pretty good at 18 years of age. I do have some new foam for the rear door speakers and the subs which might be getting a bit blown when the bass is turned up, but I don't think you could ask for better long-term performance out of a set of speakers. I'm also not an audiophile but can tell the difference between a crap system and a decent one.

The LX700H in 5-7 years on the used market may become my next SUV when my GX470 becomes too long in the tooth and transitions from a daily to a trail rig. I'm hoping these follow a similar trajectory as the LX570 where they are bought by upper-class owners who maintain them well, don't use them much at all, and then sell them at a substantial depreciation.

That's my hope as well. Meanwhile, I might spring for a 2023 600 when prices start to go below $90ks on those. It is still hard for me though consider selling my 200HE.

If I personally had a 200HE it would probably be my "forever vehicle" :). Love the way those rigs look.

This would be my perfect dream vehicle, if they fixed the interior, I would buy it.

I understand the interior is actually not bad to use on a daily base, but visually its not appealing.
The interior is definitely going to get a remake sometime in the next 2/3 years.

Fun time hanging with the big boys in Moab last week. First time we took the LX600 offroad and on the rocks. Did part of Hells Revenge and I was really impressed. Running 35" tires and a Dobinson 3" lift it did really well. Front bumper performed really well. We have some small changes to make going into production. Never touched the skids, barely touched a slider, but as expected drug the back bumper quite a bit but better than a 200 rear.

Very impressed with the CRAWL and DAC. Climbed pretty steep climbs unassisted and with no noise. That is the most impressive thing. Previous generations of CRAWL made such a racket that it felt like abuse to use it.

Overall happy with the performance of the LX600. LX700h on the shopping list.

@sleeoffroad Christo we need to see more pictures of the bumper!

Looks like the LX gets the higher end reference series, which is not the same in the GX
In the LX I would also expect the doors to be better insulated which can help the speakers and audio quality in the vehicle. Also the front side windows are likely laminated, as they are on the LX570. Not saying the regular audio system is not perfectly fine, just pointing out differences with the GX.

So nice, and finally pretty much exactly what we wanted but 50k more than a 550 OT....

I wouldn't be looking at it as a replacement for the 550OT personally, rather a different vehicle. The 550 still has some big advantages size wise for many wants/needs/uses. I'd be replacing a 200 Series with the 700h.

Strange how the GX550 OT can tow 1000lbs more and have a larger fuel tank than the LX700H.

The fuel tank nerf makes me scratch my head a little, but I'm guessing that it's to make additional space for the battery pack. I hope we'll have access to the sub-tank option!

We'll see how real world range plays out. I mean, so long as I'm better than the 200-250 miles/tank I'm getting in the 200.....
