Say what? No 5.3 Ward?

'Fraid so. Apparently, the 5.3 version of eRod is being or has been phased out in favor of the LS3. When Tor went to order, the GM parts system showed it as NA. For another $1,500 we upgraded to LS3 version of the eRod. Here are the high points:

> Plenty of low end power and torque - very tractable and economical engine at low RPMs
>Very compact engine - lower intake manifold than Vortec, smaller oil pan, narrower accessory package and set up for electric fans - also the hose outlets are well positioned for a small engine compartment
> 'Vette exhaust manifolds are a very tight fit to block - also allows all OEM configuration to comply with EPA/CARB certification for smog exemption - we plan to finish this off as a 50 state legal combination - two cats in the "correct" locations
> Two year warranty and Mr. Goodwrench support if needed
> If I can only keep it under 2,400 RPMs..... this motor produces 29 mpg highway in a 'Vette that weighs around 500 lbs less than the 73. We'll see what aerodynamics of the 73 does for fuel economy :)

Behind the motor, we have a new H55F and rebuilt 38mm split case feeding rebuilt driveshafts and new Harrop ELockers and some other Terrain Tamer goodies to add on, plus a new interior/headliner/carpet/etc.

GOOBER WELDS

Amazing what you find when the clothes come off. The PO in Spain added a bolt on trailer hitch, with a gusset plate scabbed on for more support. The Burrito is getting a 4x4 Labs bumper/receiver so this is coming off.

Sam, I'm assuming your post is a misprint and you meant ChevyBuickOldsmobileJ73. :)

Like a glove.

Too bad it's not a MOPAR ....

Awesome.

I sincerely hope that FCA hasn't turned the MOPAR hemis into that ... though, that little car with a Hellcat Hemi would be scary fast ....

Hopefully too fast to get a look at because it is REALLY ugly. :rimshot:

Hey, it was the '70s - at least it didn't have wood grain vinyl on the sides.
