Looks like my answers to the same question...

Hey guys,

The reason there is no kit available is because all of the snap rings vary in thickness. So the installer would have to measure each snap ring that is to be replaced and then go from there. I can put a bearing and seal kit together without a problem, I just need to know the specific year of the FZJ80.

I was not planing on messing with it anyway ^^^^This^^^ confirms any second thought I might of had.

If it not broke does mess with it!

I agree now that I see why the question was so difficult to answer. ;)

Makes sense to me.

I've figured this much out. If asking a question of the experts and the answer isn't a string of part numbers, followed by an invoice, then a tracking number, it must be a dumbass question and they're too professional to state as such.

That said, should the bearings be addressed, or leave alone?

Surely seals would be proactive?

Am I detecting a hint of sarcasm? :D:hillbilly::D

Would you mind PMing me your VIN? I have no problem looking this up.

You dont need a VIN for an 80 series xfer rebuild parts for an xfer with a viscous coupler.

you will need the following:

drain plug gaskets
front and rear output seals
input seals (both sides)
Red FIPG
front and rear out put bearings

99.9% of the time you will reuse the snaprings and spacers that you pull out.

i will post parts numbers when i get back to work tomorrow.

That's the reason I asked for the VIN, to see if the xfer was viscous equipped or not.

Here are the part numbers for the parts that were suggested;

drain plug gaskets - 90430-A0003 (x2)
front and rear output seals - 90311-50014 (front) & 90311-58008 (rear)
input seals (both sides) 90310-16001 & 90311-48016
Red FIPG - 00295-01281
front and rear out put bearings - 90363-40083 (front) & 90363-50005 (rear)

You wouldn't need the VIN.

80 series 1991-1992: HF2A transfer no VC

1993-1997: HF2AV w/VC (in most cases--some oddball ones out there--not hard to ascertain though. ABS=VC xfer)

Aja, that's good to know! I'm fairly new to the Land Cruiser world, I'm still learning :D. I've been in the parts game for quite awhile, but there's always specific details within each platform.

Correct.

90430-18008 will work as well for the drain plug gaskets (recent circular supersession--same as the 1GR-FE air filters--17801-0P010 and 17801-31090).

12157-10010 will work if you want to streamline everything and use one part number for front/center/rear.

:)

In a pinch.

Except for the fact that they tend to dig into the aluminum sealing surface on the case. :)

12157-10010, steel-on-steel.
90430-18008, aluminum-on-aluminum.

One tight fit:eek:
1tight fit.webp

Nice! Good job!
