He said the compression is really low in a couple of the cylinders.... so he's going to pull the engine in one of them and put it in another. His reason for not being able to sell to me doesnt involve the blown engine.

Scott I really wish this could be in your hands and I know you do to. So guys we need to find Scott a nice cruiser so he can come out and go riding with us. I know I will be keeping my eye out for one for you.

As for the blown engine, it is in my green 75 and the carburator had been leaking really bad into the engine and fuelwas on top of the cylinders. The previous owner tried getting this thing running numerous times and I think with the gas on top of the cylinders has ruined the rings. I worked on it for a couple hours this past weekend and finally started getting spark and it still would not start. compression test in #2 was 30 and #3 was 50 so honestly I had to just walk away. So i have a true mechanic coming out soon and hopefully he finds some thing stupid, like a defective compression tester. I dont have much faith I think she is gone, but I do have it soaking in oil to hopefully loosen the rings if that is even possible. I guess it will be more work and more of that stuff you guys call fun.

Russell's FJ40 in Broussard. He's asking 18K.

Just out of curiousity, what size tires are those and what amount of lift on the rig? I like that look very much! Very good looking rig.

I'd say they are 33's on a 2 1/2 lift with the factory wheels.

Ok guys, I found a cruiser but it has a blown motor. Symptoms of a thrown rod.

Looking for a 2f motor, preferably with less than 100k that was running when pulled from your rig. Would like the whole motor and accessories.

Gracias hombres.

That'll be a tough local find. I'd think about the 115K above from Shane and call it good.

Agreed that'll be a tough find locally. You can always find them in the classfifieds here on mud but then you have to worry about shipping. Shane's is a good option and if you decide to buy it maybe we can work a deal for your blown engine. I'd like to put one in the shop to start building for the trail rig.

Wanted: 2F alternator bracket

I'm looking for a 4-speed clutch inspection cover...I'm getting two stories from Advance Adapters. One guy said I need one from a Chevy application, the other says it uses the one from the Toyota 4-speed bellhousing. It's the piece that covers the bottom half of the bellhousing, covering up the flywheel/clutch.

I also saw a drip from the clutch slave cylinder, had it happen with my '72 also and it means "Be ready to be left on the road unless you change this out". I'm going to try to find out tomorrow if it is the Toyota slave or Chevy. It looks like a Toyota to me.

Its a Toyota slave. :)

Cool thanks. Hey Larry, can I get another Musson discount card? My wallet was stolen right before Christmas and I'm pretty sure it was in it.

4 roll around rims and tires. They hold air fine. I'd be keeping them for the trail rig if they fit the cruisers but they don't. 6 lug 15inch off of a chevy. The friend that gave them to me said they'd fit and I think he just pawned them on me  Spoken for by Albert

40 fiberglass top cracked in the drivers rear corner but fixable and in better shape than some I've seen. From the middle to the front is good. I will take the metal windshield part off before it goes.

For Sale

2000 Jeep fold and tumble rear seat fits between the wheel wells, no tears and in good shape bought new bushings for it when I put it in the 78. The boss didn't like it facing the rear and I wasn't drilling any holes in the cruiser so the jump seats will stay in. Dien ripped me off for $200, so I'd like to get $150 for it. You bet in you're around the office this week come by and get mine. :)

I will call you tomorrow. I'm interested in that J**p seat too, but I need seatbelts. I'm kinda thinking the 40 won't make an appearance for awhile...alot of stuff I'd like to do to it.

I did get the twin sticks in today though!!

I used the factory lap belts for the jump seats just bolted them to the floor body bolts.

Nice, who'd you get the twin sticks from.

You gotta read the maintenance thread.

Also, just because you slave cylinder goes out, it does not mean you are stuck on the road. I have had 6 or 7 go out through the years. You just have to learn how to drive with no clutch. Rev your truck up real high and let off the gas. When your engine is down revving, jam it into gear. First gear is the hardest for me. Second through forth you can't even tell I am shifting. Just takes a little practice. Kinda sucks in rush hour traffic but it can be done. It beats walking and can get you out of a serious bind.
