Isaac, the owner of that 94 emailed me back and said it is locked. Waiting on some pics.

Man that is some low miles for an 80. I talked to the owner and it is green. Green is my least favorite color for an 80. I really love that grey or gun metal color. Thanks again for searching. I bet the Louisiana Sportsman doesn't have cruisers that often, funny how things work that way when you look. Kinda like when you learn about a new subject or topic you have never heard of before and the next week after you see or hear about it everywhere.

There is a '95 blue-gray 80 up here (Alexandria) for sale. 150k $5000-ish. Looks in good shape. No lockers.

Guys, I saw this on mud today and thought someone may be interested. It is going to be hot this summer and it is one of the coldest AC systems on the planet. Scroll down to post #9 or it is kinda confusing on what is for sale. Sounds like a smoking deal to me.https://forum.ih8mud.com/sale-parts/217161-fj-bj40-factory-c-evaporator.html

I PM'd that guy im gonna see about getting it. Cruiser guy is a good guy so I'm interested in seeing what he actually wants for it.

X2 on Cruiser guy being a good guy. He does some pretty great stuff with kids. This is why I recommended this AC. Better hurry, I recommended it to a guy looking for the same thing in a different area of mud. It looks like a Vintage AC, not sure.

If you have some contact #s or email to the guy with the 80 I would surely appreciate it. Sounds like a good deal and a great mall/commuter cruiser.

Wow... I didn't see that ... It has "Cannon" or "Isaac" written all over it. :)

Thats a good deal and priced right with the low mileage and lockers. Its also the kinda of deal everyone is looking for a one owner wife driven with low miles. We all passed up on a steal of a deal on that rig here in Lafayette for $5500. I could kick myself for not buying it and hiding it somewhere. I looked high and low for another deal like that and in that price range it'll have 200,000 or more miles on it. Or you could get lucky and find another it just don't happen to me.

There are lots of rich people out there with these things sitting in their garages for years not being exposed to UV, dealer maintained, and low miles. The trick is getting it from them before it goes to the dealer for a trade in. IMO you just have to wait it out and look for newspaper classifieds or word of mouth. I bought a 1992 FJ-80 with 90,000 miles on it in 03 for $4,900. I sold it in 06 for 3,500 with 125k to a friend. It was in MINT condition. I think the one in Lafayette for $5,500 was a good deal if it was in good shape. A 14 year old vehicle that isn't rare or a collectors item or had a bunch of mods just isn't worth that much to me personally.

... or had a bunch of mods just isn't worth that much to me personally.

I'd say dependent upon the mods.... Some things which you "have" to do such as lift, sliders, lockers, rear tire carrier, front bumper etc... would bring more value if it wasn't wheeled much/hard as you'd have to pay to get it anyway. (if you wanted those things obviously). This rig being locked is a big plus as you know which can run $1,500 an axle by some accounts.

If this rig has been taken care of, that's a good deal w/ lockers and LOW milage. Marty and Landry (I think) saw the Lafayette truck... someone is smiling about that deal :D... and it ain't me.

We'll see in the end but the rig from Tx should be in good shape and has over 3K in mods to it. Wasn't wheeled really at all except one trip to Utah in which Landry's truck went with them and never used the lockers. :fingers crossed:

That rig from above is even better if you could talk him down $1,000 - $1,250.

Hey guys--I'm the one who posted about the 80 in BR. I recently bought my 80 (97 40th with 104K miles super clean) for 11,500. I looked at this one and if i could afford it, I'd offer the guy 7.5K hoping to pay 8.5K. i make this comparison based on it being 3 years older. One also has to take into consideration that there are not many 80s available in this area (at least I don't see many) and the fact that everyone is off loading SUVs. I'd also have to drop another 3K to get it in the same shape as my 97 80.

At any rate, the owner has no idea what he really has.

I saw your rig in the 80 registry I can't believe the PO stripped the badges off and repainted it white over the sage. Did they bump their head  either way its a nice rig. Did they do a good job on the paint?

Did they do a good job on the paint?

Thanks. They did an overall decent job. They screwed up some masking and paint is on the windshield rubber, flare rubber, etc. Nothing i can't scratch off with my fingernail:D
