cajun65, if someone buys mine i'll buy yours!

Clean it up and take some pics. If you email them to me I can post them up for you. I have a couple you sent me but not great pics. Clean detailed pictures will help you sell it. You should also add that its for sale in your mud signature. Alot of folks do that here and it works.

Something like Scott's post works better for most folks. Free bump for the F250

I'm going to be selling my 1989 FJ 62 to get some cash to put down on another vehicle. I hate to do it, but I'll start here if anyone is interested. I'll post the good and the bad a little later but I'll be selling at a loss so that will be someone's gain. I'll be honest about all the issues with it. Overall it's a good truck and my daily driver. Someone with better tech skills can really take this rig to a new level and keep it there for many, many years.

Approximately 182K miles (speedo cable burned on the exhaust, but I haven't replaced it yet to get accurate mileage)
Stock AM/FM/Cassette deck

The Good:

4-inch Hell Creek Suspension
Cold A/C (upgraded to R134)
Rebuilt transmission
Rebuilt transfer case
31-10.50-15 BF Goodrich All Terrain tires in very good shape
New upper air intake hose
Had regular oil changes
Includes a Wilderness Roof Rack as seen in the pictures
Clarion 6-disc CD changer (I unhooked the power after I first got it to track down some electrical ghosts and never hooked it back up, but it does work)

The Bad:

Failing brake master cylinder that I plan to fix ASAP
Slow oil leak that I haven't nailed down yet
Exhaust will need to be changed out in the near future
Front knuckles will probably need to be changed out at some point
Rear panel that hides the rear wiper bag needs to be replaced
Needs new O2 sensors
Needs a thorough tune up (replaced plugs and wires after I first got it as well as changed out the fuel filter - All belts are new and tight)

I would not hesitate to drive this 62 anywhere in the Southeast. It's been a good daily driver for me but I have to get a newer vehicle for work.

$3500 OBO

Bump with new details. If I'm forgetting anything, excuse me, I don't mean to. I'll be up front and honest with anyone that has interest.

Thanks.

The price seems a little low to me....I'm guessing you just want to get rid of it fast? Well it's a bummer but I hope you still make it to rides...you should get a 4-runner for better mileage!

Agreed.... I'd try to hold fast at your price for awhile.

Good luck.

You can't just leave us :crybaby:

Hell no I'm not leaving. I'll just do like Josh's brother and slap a Toyota emblem on the front.

I think $3500 is realistic b/c the next owner will have to do some work that I never got around to doing.

I think you're right on for the market $3500 - 4K and would hold firm at your price. :)

...... try to link your sale in your sig line back to a single post (ie the post of the rig for sale)

Good idea. I have it posted on Louisiana Sportsman, LA Offroaders and here. Looks like it found a new owner already though. Deal pending.

Heart, breaking.

Keep us posted hopefully staying close to home. Hey Josh's brother is looking for a rig ditch the smuzu idea for the 62

A guy at work is trying to sell a set of Dick Cepeck wheels and tires.
They are 33 x 12.50 x 16 and the wheels are polished with 6 on 5.5 bolt pattern. They only have about 8,000 miles on these all terrain tires. He bought them from a guy but they rub on his Blazer. They are the common bolt pattern for Toyota and Chevy. They sell for about $1600 new he is asking $800.

My buddy is still trying to sell these wheels and tires. He will also have some master craft 31x10.50x15 Course AT for sale after we put some 35" mud brute on his blazer Friday. I am sure no fair offer will be refused. They still have alot of tread left they are just to small for his six lift.

Also we will be going to Franklin Friday to use my other buddy's tire machine and balancer, so if you need some tires swapped speak up or meet us down there. Or if someone needs something transported let me know.

I found that thread and I was lined up to buy the cruiser from Deryl.... circumstances changed and he is unable to sell it to me.

Your in the right thread should we stumble on something it'll be posted here. Keep an eye on the Tx threads as well they'll come accross many more than we will here. I plan on taking that Costa Rica trip as well. I talked to the owner several times here on MUD and it looks to be a great trip. I you feel up to it post us some pics from your trip and tell us your thoughts on his tour. We have several guys interested in that trip. You'll notice one of our club members has property and spends a great deal of time there. The thread is here https://forum.ih8mud.com/la-bayou-state-land-cruisers/187943-traveling-thread.html

The tour was great. I wish I had more time and money to spend on the longer tours they offer, but what we did was a blast! They owner made it very entertaining with the orientation and everyone was professional but fun. I don't have many pics of the trip, but I will say that it was well worth it. A trip to Costa Rica is well worth it as well. If you guys need any info, let me know, I'm practically a guide book for Costa Rica.

Send a email to Matt he may take it or buy some parts off it. He's building the 80 model PU he got in AL I haven't seen them on in sometime so you might email them. Check our website and contacts tab for the email address. :)

Wow, I knew he had listed it here but didn't see this one https://forum.ih8mud.com/vehicles-tra...0-%242500.html and just looking at it said he blew his engine. That sucks Deryl fill us in.

He said the compression is really low in a couple of the cylinders.... so he's going to pull the engine in one of them and put it in another. His reason for not being able to sell to me doesnt involve the blown engine.
