Nice for $4,500. Looks a little like Tyler's rig... doubt it is.

Fist glance thought the same thing but not his. Look like a nice rig. Hope it stays here :)

That one is around Prairieville.

I'm working around Center, TX now and stopped to look at a white 40 w/hardtop yesterday. The problem is it hasn't moved an inch since I saw it here last year. The owner wasn't home, but I will try to catch him sometime. They had a couple of tractors and old road signs around the place, so I think it's some sort of store. I don't think any of the body is any good, and the roof is in pretty bad shape too. I didn't want to open the hood without anyone there so I don't know how that looks.

The cool thing was it had 35" Interco Thornbirds with about 5% tread left. Still gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

i know the warm and fuzzy feeling..:)

Russell Broussard a postman in Broussard has his 40 4-Sale in the front yard today. He's been restoring it for many years. I will post some pics here this evening if anyone is interested. If your coming down Pinhook when you get to Morgan St in Broussard if you take a left at the light its the second or third house on your right.

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a rebuildable fj40. It doesnt need to be in perfect shape, but I would prefer little rust. Some body rust is ok, but not welcome on the frame. Doesnt need a motor or tranny. Oh and it'd need a title of some sort. Willing to pay up to $2000 for the right rig.

I am located in Natchitoches. My email is GlowinGreen01nf@aol.com

I fell in love a year and a half ago when I went mudding in a BJ40 down in Costa Rica (fellow Ih8mud'ers' company).

Your in the right thread should we stumble on something it'll be posted here. Keep an eye on the Tx threads as well they'll come accross many more than we will here. I plan on taking that Costa Rica trip as well. I talked to the owner several times here on MUD and it looks to be a great trip. I you feel up to it post us some pics from your trip and tell us your thoughts on his tour. We have several guys interested in that trip. You'll notice one of our club members has property and spends a great deal of time there. The thread is here https://forum.ih8mud.com/la-bayou-state-land-cruisers/187943-traveling-thread.html

I'm going to be selling my 1989 FJ 62 to get some cash to put down on another vehicle. I hate to do it, but I'll start here if anyone is interested. I'll post the good and the bad a little later but I'll be selling at a loss so that will be someone's gain. I'll be honest about all the issues with it. Overall it's a good truck and my daily driver. Someone with better tech skills can really take this rig to a new level and keep it there for many, many years.

Approximately 182K miles (speedo cable burned on the exhaust, but I haven't replaced it yet to get accurate mileage)
Stock AM/FM/Cassette deck

The Good:

4-inch Hell Creek Suspension
Cold A/C (upgraded to R134)
Rebuilt transmission
Rebuilt transfer case
31-10.50-15 BF Goodrich All Terrain tires in very good shape
New upper air intake hose
Had regular oil changes
Includes a Wilderness Roof Rack as seen in the pictures
Clarion 6-disc CD changer (I unhooked the power after I first got it to track down some electrical ghosts and never hooked it back up, but it does work)

The Bad:

Failing brake master cylinder that I plan to fix
Slow oil leak that I haven't nailed down yet
Exhaust will need to be changed out in the near future
Front knuckles will probably need to be changed out at some point
Rear panel that hides the rear wiper bag needs to be replaced
Needs new O2 sensors
Needs a thorough tune up (replaced plugs and wires after I first got it as well as changed out the fuel filter - All belts are new and tight)

I would not hesitate to drive this 62 anywhere in the Southeast. It's been a good daily driver for me but I have to get a newer vehicle for work.
