Hi all, new here and love the tremendous amount of enthusiasm and information. I just bought my first LC, a 2010 and first on my list is to change the wheels. I’ve seen a few pictures of other Land Cruisers with black Tundra (I think..?) steelies that I really like. I know this subject has been discussed before but I can’t seem to find the information. Does anyone know where to get those? I hope to add a couple pictures for reference of exactly what I’m looking for (the white 200 series looks especially good, I realize 3rd pic are 6 lug and I need 5 of course). Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated!

It's funny you found those 100 pics - that's my old (very dirty) truck. I bought it stock and put those Tundra steelies on with some Slee sliders, and I immediately disliked it. The massive increase in unsprung weight was immediately noticeable, and it rode harsher and in every metric performed worse - handling, braking, and accelerating. I went back to the stock wheels and 33" Duratracs and never looked back. Even after adding a lot more (sprung) weight with a lift, front bumper and winch, Slee belly plate, and drawers, the 100 still drove materially better than when it just had the steel wheels and sliders. I still like the look of steel wheels on a Land Cruiser, but I have no desire to do it again. FWIW I found them on craigslist for cheap - I want to say they were only $200 for all 4 with tires and then about $15 in rattle can - I did the sliders and the wheels together in the same color at the same time.

here's the (rest of world) part number for 17" 5x150 steelies. These spec around 15.5 kg.
The 18" are all, like @mcgaskins said, heavy.

I found a set of Trundra steel take-offs at the local Toyota/Lexus dealer...came from a new Tundra so they were unused when I got 'em. With Tundra lug nuts and caps $100 + tax out the door. They're spoked and used in winter with Blizzaks...stored in the barn the rest of the time. Lug nut torque with steelies is ~ 40% more than aluminum rims, and they take a conical nut with no attached washer.

This the look you are going for? I know a guy local that got his for dirt cheap on Craigslist as well. I want to say $100. They do look cool, but I have heard the same about them not feeling great. The Tundra ones are 18’s. The 17’s from what I know are from Australia, never seen them here

Hi thanks for the reply! Yes I do like that look also although personally I prefer the black contrast to my white LC. Based on what @mcgaskins said above, I might keep looking and get some more advice on other rims like Methods, fifteen52’s, Fuel etc. At $100-200, I might just try a set and possibly learn the hard way. Nonetheless, I’m definitely going with black and either steel or a simple rugged looking rim for light to medium off roading although with 3 kids, I’m not sure how much will be off roading vs school run. Thanks!

@mcgaskins, Thanks for the reply and information I really do like the way those steelies look! After hearing of your experience with them, I may try a cheap set with good tires and possibly move on to something else. I was hoping to throw on the steelies and be off but alas, I am too naive thinking that’s all I need to do. I will likely add a belly plate and ARB or other front and rear bumper (with a swing out) along with some additional suspension upgrades so weight will be increased. Thanks again for sharing your experience and I hope to post some pics when I figure it out!

I will! I also hope to post a pic and an update regarding the drive if and when I decide 100%. There are a few other styles I like, but they cost A TON more...
yeah, since you can source locally there will certainly not be a less expensive option.

Either. Has 285/60/18 KO2s. Two tires in excellent condition. Other two will last may another 35k but has some outer wear (can run them in the back and get more life)
With rubber sounds great! Where are you located and I’m assuming they are 5 lug 5x150? Thanks!

@SurfScout77 you can buy 7x17 steelies in your region around 125gbp each. Did you look at Toyotaoriginal yet?

Has anyone found an alloy wheel that looks like a steelie? The method 315s look ok, but not sure if others have seen something better
