Hello,

My first post got moved to the Classifieds. Will try this one. I am looking for the dimensions for the A343F output shaft. Spline count, diameter, and spline length.. This is a technical question,

To help answer this question, if someone has a used output shaft, I would like to buy or borrow it to do a dimensional takeoff of the shaft dimensions.

If anyone knows of a transmission dismantler where I can get a used output shaft, that would be a great help.

Thanks,

Mike

The nominal effective spline length (as I measured it) and tooth count are: 55-mm and 19. The nominal shaft size is Ø35-mm.

I have no way to measure the spline itself, because I don't know what size it's supposed to be and therefore I don't know what size pins to use. I assume these are JIS D2001-1959/B1603-1995 splines. That would make it a JIS 35x19x"something" (and some fit).

According to the B1603 I have (which is in Japanese, and which I don't read) the module is either 1.25 (Ø33-mm) or 1.5 (Ø34-mm); I can't tell which Toyota used. It's anyone's guess which fit Toyota used. I know what the SAE fit would be, but there's no way to cross that.

Thanks for the detailed info. I appreciate it.

i have a transmission that i could pull the output shaft out of for you and ship it your way. send me a private message and we can work something out.

Thanks. I will get back to you shortly. Another member PM'd me and he may have one. If that does not work out, I will get back to you. Love working with people on this board. Great community.

Transtar has hard parts divisions in every major city. There are usually locally based parts houses that are better deals. Google "automatic transmission parts near me".

Curious what you're trying to do? Someone familiar with reverse engineering automotive shafts would typically be very familiar with where to buy example parts.

Thanks, I will check them out also.

Thanks again for the offer. Another member has the part 2 hours from my house. I will go for that one.

I think he may be designing an overdrive unit to fit between the transmission and the transfer case??

You are designing an overdirve unit for the 95-97 FZJ80's (wave of hand).
