I've got the original master cylinder but I'm gonna put on front disc brakes and I'd rather put a new brake master cylinder in. Considering the FJ80 swap which I assume will bolt right to the original booster? Could also use a new boot if those are still available somewhere

Sure looks like it would. Toyota didn't change them. I've got an 89ish 80 series master/booster in my 40. The 80 series booster fit with the 40 master and also the 40 booster with the 80 master.

Push rod length likely would need adjustment.

I've got the FJ80 MC with my 40 series booster. Great combo for braking if you have front disc.

I used an FJ80 master cylinder on a FJ40 73 booster. Fit right up and works extremely well. Though I did both a front and rear disc brake conversion.

60 master if you're keeping rear drum. Non ABS 80 if you're going all disc. Fjparts.com and Cruiser outfitters both have good deals on genuine Aisan units.

I had issues with trying to use a 60 MC. Not OEM. I sent back two before finally settling on the early 80 series MC for front disc/rear drum.

Mark is the 80 non abs too powerful/not powerful enough for the front disk/rear drum combo?
