Wanted some LED parklights to match the new LED headlights I recently got but when I pulled them out I realised they're dual-filament? Whats the reason they're not normal T10 wedge bulbs like every other vehicle's parklights. I feel like when I use my indicators I can see the corresponding park light's brighter filament light up but I feel like that is so odd.

Anyone have a clue as to why toyota has it like this?

These are the bulbs im referring to

Thanks for the reply, i know in some newer cars they have the parklights go brighter to match the indicator so you can see where you're turning better, is that why these are dual filament?

That is correct, the higher power filament illuminates when the turn signal is on. The Japanese manuals call them "cornering lights" rather than parking lights like you'd see in European cars.

Good to know, thanks. Do you happen to have a digital manual handy?

There is a copy of the body/chassis manual (RM183E) in the Resources tab here on Mud. I also have a translated copy of the JDM 70-series electrical diagrams that I'll dig up and post here.
