The carriage doesn't spin. It's loose, but corners out in the square hole in the bracket.

OOps

You were right, I went back and both the 10004 and 10007 would be 10, not 8mm. My ruler showed less than 10mm but after you brought it up I checked with a tap, the 10mm matched. I edited my post to reflect that. Thanks.

Here's an underside and a top view to show the fit of the 10004 in the bracket.

Could this be a fog light switch? Looks exactly like a regular light switch except it has 6 posts instead of five, three position, markings on the back SS RF LF and so on?

Phil, did you test the switch at all? If it were a fog light switch I guess it would have to a position with the running lights and fog lights on...............

Thanks. Yes the tires are 16" jeep service bias. They will soon go to the bj70 once I get my stock rims back with some tires on them. I'm going back to hub caps too although I will miss the slightly more rugged look of the bias ply and updated rim.

Wes is what year is your 40? Does it have the double sided front turn signals? Nice cruiser by the way.

Jim you better post up a picture, I won't be able to get some next week at the earliest. Phil do you have the fog lights?

My plan for the wiring isto make it match the way fog lights work today by having a second lead on the lo beams from the dimmer switch go to a another switch on the dash and then to the fog lights. This way the fog lights only work when the lo beams are on and the fog light switch is turned on. I plan on using a wiper switch from an early 40 and filling in wiper and make it say fog.

it's a 64 with a build date of I think dec 63 from looking at the vin a while back. No double sided turn signals. I think these are the 2nd set as well. It looks like the back part was once pewter vs tan and I think I remember the orig owner saying he replaced them. Thanks

I still have a few things to do like replace the chrome bumper with a new oem, likewise with the bezel. Replace the confer rear bumper and go back to bumperettes and a step and put the running board material in from fox.

Looks good John. Are you sending that cruddy old Ramsey winch up here? That's an awful lot of work just to get these guys a picture. :flipoff2:

Anybody have one of those original chain and hook for the winch they want to part with?

You know I could get a decal with all the letters cut out to stick on the new glass and then smear on some etch goo and there you have it.

Shane, that would be way too easy, I think I'll store this in the shed until I either break it, or it falls on me someday............. ;p

Well, I happen to get my hands on a set or OEM fog lights like posted above. VERY NICE, but I have not used them, how is the light? anyone upgraded a bulb or had a need to?

I wired mine up a week ago and was able to use them (in the fog!) for the first time, Tuesday. I think the light's great! Don't feel the need to change anything.

Thank's you for the compliment, it's rust free cruiser that spent it's whole life here in AZ. I'm slowing undoing all the mods the PO had done to it. This is the cruiser in my avatar, now with the factory PTO winch instead of the Ramsey. Next up replace the chrome wheels with the stock 16" skinnies.

I would have to check to be sure but I'm glad these fog lights work okay since I think the bulbs have a special socket and wouldn't be a easy upgrade.
