Change them out whether they need it or not. Clean the dirt and rust out of the socket bases and ensure the bulb housings are making good ground.
Take it a step further and replace your dash light bulbs.
Good idea to go ahead and replace your headlights too, while they’re still available, or maybe move forward with that LED conversion you’ve been putting off.

I've often wondered if headlights where available for our 55s thinking that eventually one would fail...
So far, 8 years into owning my 79 no issues but I'd appreciate knowing where to purchase - Autozone?

It is just a 7 inch sealed beam. As long as Harley's and Jeeps are being sold, you will have them on the shelves.

Winter maintenance is always a pain, but lets you look it over and fix problems that will pop up when you need it. More to my list.
