The light around the the key is staying on it killed the battery so I put a new Battery in all was fine, light was off. I thinking I left the rear hatch open and that caused it but when I went to move it yesterday the dam light is on again and I can't get it to go off. Is there a simple way to disconnect it so it won't kill the battery again.

Thanks Brosky

IIRC it is a failed diode that has to be replaced. I don't have one so you might want to google the issue with that term.

No problem. Good luck!

Most likely the zener has died and leaking current. Bit more info beyond the mud link above:

Ignition dimming relay

cheers,
george.

simple quick fix for me was to pull the bulb

Happens to me now and again. I poke it with my finger, it goes off.

I had the same problem. have to cut the diode in the box in the passenger footwell.

Thanks for all the replies
