It depends on what you have,
MIG would be much easier and quicker IMO, if your mig welder is large enough to penetrate the metal.
Stick is fail proof, as long as you know what you are doing though.

Nothing is fail proof, if you have any doubt about your welding skills then have a pro do it. End story.
I think the MIG is more Amateur friendly, That being said, I don't think any brand 110 volt welder is strong enough for suspension bracketry welding.
Bottom line, just use what you are good with, and like 2ndgentoyotafan said, if you don't know how to weld, take it to someone who does.

I was of the same opinion until I purchaesd a 110 volt Hobart 140 and got surprising results. That is 5/16 wall tube and it penetrated really well. It does a good job on the thinner frame material as well.
I have a MIG so that is what I use. I've tried stick, and just can't do it. Bottom line, I will weld on anybodies junk ... as long as their life doesn't depend on it.
Once you learn on mig its a bitch to weld with a stick..........it takes practice that is for sure
guy's stick isn't hard at all ( first thing i started off with was stick-plate) at first it was a bitch but after 4months of using nothing but stick and having a damn good teacher it's fun other than having to clean out all the slag but mig is great with the right gas

Thats actually really nice penetration- The 110 Hobart we have has cautions on its use for metal above 3/16's.
yotarover- I agree that stick is easy, when you have been taught. I took cert classes, became cert'd and am still amazed at the beads some people can run with a stick.
i know i used to get stuck all the time and then i got that special touch over head is fun as hell root passes are the bomb but suck when you gotta start over and grind
