i got a better look at it today and I think it’s ok. I also pulled the valve cover and visually inspected the rocker assembly and valves and then watched it run and it all looked good and no abnormal noise from up there. Unfortunately starting to think I have a bottom end issue. Took a video will post over in my root beer Vermont thread.

For people doing this in the future, you happen to know the size or even a part # on those Rocker Shaft End Plugs ? (not available from Toyota as a separate part, btw).

I'm in the same place, shaft was full of sludge and all oil holes were plugged. plug measures 13.4mm or 0.528" no luck on finding a replacement so far.
