Got my HID slim ballast kit from kbcarstuff.com great easy product to install, no relays necessary simple plug & play. FYI they are having a sale right now.

I run a 4300k HID kit I got off eBay maybe 4 years ago, they work great. HIR isn't much different than stock if at all.
That's not correct. HIR option puts out quite a few more lumens. It's a decent option that really brings the stock to an acceptable level of use/safety. A proper HID solution with correct projectors is better. Just sticking HID bulbs in a factory housing is horrible. The light scatter is awful.

I think that's true for the Toyota headlight setup but I'm very happy with the light output of HID in the stock LX projector lens.

Correct. The LX470 projector shares similar traits with the S2000 AP1 projector. It's one if the best halogen projectors in the world, you just need to put a clear lens on it and proper HID equipment and you'll be rock'n!

Not....mine works great..

With all due respect I would have to assume that you haven't seen a good system to compare with. I'm sure it "works great" but the standard Land Cruiser reflector does not provide close to the correct cutoff or focus. Brightness without control.

As Nick said the LX 470 projector makes a good starting point for the lucky Lexus owners but for an LC you have to retrofit a projector.

I can't stand when people run HID's in a car without a projector and proper aiming. Bad deal right there. I presume someday someone is going to outlaw aftermarket HID's because of this. Please please run a projector lens if you're going to run HID's

Agreed, but added even more. Actually, I thought any non-DOT headlamp was outlawed already. :dunno:
