Have you tried testing the lights to verify they work.

It would be as easy as running 12+ to one of the side terminals and a ground to middle terminal.

so i just tested the lights with 2 wires from the battery and cant even get the dims to work, plug it back into the head light socket and both dims work, does anyone know how these lights are wired? is it a ground problem?

I'd just hit the easy button, LED headlights don't look right on a 40 anyway.

Here's the best $20 bill you'll spend on a 40 upgrade.

I did some more searching and found this diagram which means my original statement about the wiring was incorrect.

Using this information can you retest your lights?

you were right, got low and high beams now, thank you!!

Good deal. I like handing out a win.

I'd like somebody at Toyota to explain very slowly to me why their headlight setup is as retarded as it is. 🤣

The PO of my 80 series butchered the harness to put in a set of garbage chinesium headlights. They never worked correctly because that relay set wasn't there.

I was starting with 4 bare wires..... it took me probably 2 hours of trying combinations to get high and low to work.
Probably 45 minutes in, I decided that I didn't bring enough tism to do it without a map, so I made a map of every combination of wires.....

Then I replaced the cracked up nightmare of a grill with one from landcruiser grills and installed a set of heated 7" round headlights from Rigid. They're so good I want to put a set in the 40 now.
