Congrats to Josh Guidry on finally finding the 40 he wanted thanks to EBay. Josh was ready to snatch up Glen's 40 with leather interior and all when he had it For Sale and missed it by a day or two. Looks like another yellow 40 will be buzzing around soon :D

I was on the way home from Canes, after a spur of the moment decision yesterday, so I was coming down E. Broussard, heading towards Johnston, and at that little Gas station, there was a grey 60 that had illuded me multiple times before, so he got behind me, and I kept my eye on him. I was hoping he was going to turn like into the McDonalds Parking lot, but got a break when he turned into that boat yard on the right. I went through the church parking lot, and pulled up next to him. I waited a couple minutes till he got off the phone, then he started texting... Dang. So after a while, I figured he wasn't texting, and maybe just facebook, he kept scrolling.. I checked for some cards, but I think I must have used them all, or they're in the cruiser, I'll have to check next time I drive it..D: So I wrote my name and the next meeting date on a stickem note I had in the truck, and went talk with him. He bought William's Old crusier, and seems like a really nice guy. He was there to help with the boats, and he asked if I was there for "John" (Don't remember the Real name). I said, "No, I'm actually here for you." "Me? Your here for Cody," "???How do you know my name???" "Cool Small world, I'm Cody too.. I'm part of the Local Land Cruiser club, and saw you turn around, and wanted to see if you were a memeber, or if not, get ya to join.. :D:D:D" So we talked, he's not, but bought Williams Old cruiser, Knows Mr. Paul, and want's to buy his jeep... as a work truck, He put a 2x4 in the cruiser, and cracked the front windshield closing the back hatch, that sucks....... So now it's time for a pickup...

He said He will definetly make it to the meeting, and wasn't too creaped out last time I tried to flag him down on Johnston, in my pickup... D:

His 60 has a cool Custom Swing out on the back, and he's trying to find a similarly designed tube / plate bumper for the front.. :D

Thanks
Cody

Good job on extending the invite bud :) Yep we know that 60 well and Will took outstanding care of it when he had it and even added nice swing out bumper and a 5 speed not long before selling it to buy the Tacoma mostly because he was doing more driving. Cody scored a very nice and well cared for 60 I hope to meet him at our meeting.

Here it is at a Feb 09 meeting :)

Hmm. Well it's got a fair amount of rust on it now. And paint looks very dull.

Thanks Cody Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

Was talking cruisers with a guy at the gym today and Jeff brought in pictures of his 71 FJ40 he restored in 86/87. It's always good to see and hear a good cruiser story. He sold it some years later because the wife didn't like it he had some great memories riding his daughter around in it. Needless to say he found the right guy that can help him find another ;)

Did he get divorced? Did he actually ask for help or was it <wink> <wink> <nod> <nod> "No, I am not really looking for another one"?

LOL, no he didn't get a divorce I guess he's at a stage in life now where the wife's opinion on his toys doesn't hold the weight it once did. Sounds like he's tired of the Harley's and ready to play with something else and really enjoyed the 40. He also liked the idea of a club to hang out and ride with. He said there wasn't anything like our group when he had his. Of course I offered to help him find something when he gets rid of the Harley's ;)

Just saw this at Don's Wholesale on Johnston. Asking $15995. The salesman said he had never seen one before. I told him, if he would drive south two blocks, he could see another one!

The price of my rig just went up...

This one looks like a solid rig to start building up but certainly not 15 grand worth. It makes me sick to the stomach to see some of these used car lots picking up these rigs for next to nothing then spraying them with some fresh paint and patching them up enough to slap some silly stupid figure on them with prayers to the man above that someone will be stupid enough to see it and slap down that kinda of cash because its a Land Cruiser. For example the red one at Hot Will's on HWY 90 that was a bucket of rust they threw some paint on and a 350 in it hoping that its worth 13K  These guys would list yours for 30 and insult you when they offered you 5 for it.

He sent this rig thru the auction two weeks ago and the bottom dollar was 11k. Still way out of range. He also has a red one in worse condition for sale and he wants just as much.
