Land Cruiser Shop In/Near Brooklyn (1 Viewer)

Hi.

I'm new to the forum. Just bought an FJ80 in Nevada. I'm bringing it back here to Brooklyn and wanted to know not only a fair, honest and talented mechanic but a place that could install a front bumper and a heavy duty roof rack [for a rooftop tent].

What places do you guys recommend?

Shop I go to for garden variety stuff is 421 Auto at 421 Meeker, ask for Kevin tell him James sent you - fair prices, they can do most things but for really vehicle specific stuff (i.e. differentials, etc.) I might send my truck to a specialist not local. what you mention is basic and they can handle

Junior Polo on 190 McGuinness Blvd, Brooklyn, NY 11222 did a lot of work on 3 of my land cruisers and some other ones in the hood, this includes : head gasket, axle rebuilds, brakes , we did the power steering cooler , and all the basics .

(EDIT: removing the shop. The tech who performed my work moved on and I can't find him) is good but maybe a little far from Brooklyn. They can install an FZJ80 fuel filler neck without unbolting the body! Lol

Well unfortunately OGBeno is no longer living with us in beautiful New York State, one of those shops is in jersey, and the others wouldnt do onsite inspections. I unfortunately dont trust myself to look over a vehicle, and a lot of the cruisers im finding arent close to NYC. I was trying to find someone, who might just be more versed then me to come with me, and id pay them for their time.

What's the point in traveling so far with the mechanic if he can't inspect it on his equipment? You need to find a shop local to the truck you are looking at and schedule an appointment there.
