Hi Guys,
I am located in Edmonton, AB.
A lady backed into my truck front bumper. I have a LJ78 Prado.
Hers was a newer Lincoln MKX. Her damage was minimal and the couple want to settle without a claim.

I want to get a quote from a RHD friendly shop for the parts and repair. The damage is limited to jsut the front bumper and the bracket that holds it to the frame (hopefully). Pics coming in a little while.

Can somebody recommend a body shop that can cater to our trucks.
We both went to the police and a report is not required for damage less than $2000.

I have not yet reported it to my insurance provider, TD Meloche Monnex.
Can you guys recommend any steps i should take now.
thanks.

For the insurance, go to your local dealership and get a quote from them, that should get you a plie of $$$$$$

Take said money and get an ARB:cheers:

If you do want to go with stock, post up in the wanted sections of your local clubs or the wanted part of the classifieds. Check with Radd Cruisers or PM 70sguy (i think) as they have used parts for 70 series trucks on a regular basis. Radd or ENS might be able to get you the stuff new if it's still in the parts system at a better proce than your local dealership will, so the work yourself and take the extra $$$$$ and buy yourself some beer to drink while admiring your work.:meh:

I would pull out the damage myself.
And bill her a couple of hundred bucks after showing what a replacement one will cost.
Then put it towards a winch bar.

I did a number on my bumper last year ... long story but lets say, the GMC has 10k damage - the KZ, not too much, pulled the bumper off and drove away!

So when wheeling with Crushers we decided we would take the opportunity to buld a new bumper and at the same time move the OEM winch up and in front giving a better approach angle and a 'meaner' look. :grinpimp:

I think I had a post about the build somewhere here on mud ...

You can see some pics on my album here:

I've got 2 stock front bumpers back in BC...one from a JDM BJ70 and one from a JDM HZJ77. As far as I can recall they are identical. I'm thinking they'll probably fit the Prado but can't say for sure. $25 bucks apiece...no mounting brackets. I'm headed out that way tomorrow and will be back through Edmonton on Sunday night. Let me know if you want me to pack one or both back for you.

the HD bumpers DO NOT FIT Light duty frames.
i would tell her $500 and it will go away.
then take the money and invest in a real bumper, probably home made. make it with the option of going with a 8274 mount.

karma, if it was an accident then play fair. if it was attitude then show up with the neck brace.

me, s*** happens.
you can make fertilizer and grow from it
or
you can be a monkey and throw it around.

Which dealer should be able to help me get a replacement bumper?
I guess there are obsolete now. Dan at 4Wheel Auto gave me a quote for an ARB, but can present that to her. i donot think so.

I can get some used bunmpers shipped for a few $XXX dollars.

Would ENS in Saskatoon be able to help me with this?
Wat do ya guys think.

Thanks Everyone.

Hey Guys,
I finally got an estimate from the Body shop for an amount close to $500.
How should i approach my Adjuster with a cash payout request.
Do i just pose a question to her about a cash payout?
Those who have experience, is there any specific way i should approach this?
The registration is for the province of Alberta and Insurance Broker is TD Meloche Monnex.
Thanks in advance.
